Matron of Honor
Bride's younger sister. We were just far enough apart in age that we never attended school together after elementary. She was the messy one while I was the neat freak, but we've always enjoyed each others company and sense of humor! We actually shared an apartment together when she met her husband, and right before I moved north to TC where I'd eventually meet my fiance!
Best Man
Kyle and I first met playing basketball in Traverse City. He was one of the first guys that I connected with on and off the court. When Kyle and fellow groomsman, Shaun Hubbell, asked me to be their roommate, I jumped at the opportunity to get to know him better. Kyle has the special ability to befriend anyone, but our similarities are what drew us close. Since roommates, we've swapped basketball for golf, and music festivals in Chicago for camping in the Upper Peninsula.
Bridesmaid
We were childhood neighbors and quickly became best friends. We even took baths together as kids! There's proof in the photos! We stayed good friends through high school and eventually became college roommates during my short stint at Western Michigan University, where we likely spent more time eating in the cafeteria and watching reality TV than studying. Haley, her mom and sister are like family!
Groomsman
Groom’s brother. Guatemala met Colombia in the Tanner household when I was just 3 months old. As the elder, and less enthused by my presence, he wanted our adoptive parents to send me back, but lucky for me they declined. We were now brothers. As we grew older, he became my mentor on everything cool and fun. I followed his footsteps every chance I got, whether it was playing an instrument or playing sports.
Bridesmaid
We survived band camp together and quickly became besties while playing the clarinet in the marching band at Walled Lake Central. We eventually went on to "study" together at Michigan State and have remained the best of friends ever since. We now communicate mostly through emojis, our latest Costco finds and photos of our cat(s).
Groomsman
There are few people in the world as humble as Shaun. Some co-workers you can consider friends and others just colleagues, but to me Shaun is family. Work friends turned into best friends after a very short time. His fun loving attitude and personality is something I’ve admired from day one. We’ve spent many occasions watching sporting events, going to the beach, and cuttin’ rugs.
Bridesmaid
We quickly bonded over high school math and English, as well as the daily struggles of having braces during our early teenage years. We went on to work at Target together, which likely led to our current day obsession with the store and everything within it. Following our time in red and khaki, we moved on to the land of green and white (MSU), which we continue to root for any chance we get!
Groomsman
Ryan and I also met while working together in Traverse City. It wasn’t clear to me that we would become good friends when I first met him as we both were both putting in long hours at the office. When we finally connected outside of work it became clear. Some of my fondest memories in the recent decade have been road trips across the country with this guy. Ryan finds an adventure in everything he does.
Bridesmaid
We met as mutual friends of Haley's after graduating college and all moving back to Detroit. I acquired Heather, aka Santos, as a close friend when Haley and Michelle abandoned us by moving across the country! We've spent many evenings in her various apartments, drinking wine, singing country songs, and carving pumpkins, or some other holiday related activity.
Groomsman
Joe and I were close friends in high school raising hell on the weekends. I had the pleasure of watching Doyle’s shenanigans in English class. He had a reputation for being a funny man, and he did not disappoint. After moving away I lost touch with many of my hometown buddies, but not Joe. Shannon’s first visit to Missouri helped reunite our old friendship when our hotel coincidentally ended up being a stone’s throw away from Joe’s apartment.
