Marblehead Lighthouse
We often have a picnic here and enjoy the beautiful views of the water. This is in Shanna's hometown and is a Marblehead staple.
Peabody Essex Museum
This is a great museum for kids and adults. It is reasonably priced and right in downtown Salem.
Downtown Salem District
Downtown Salem is historic and has a lot of little shops and places to explore!
Salem Public Library
The Marblehead, Swampscott and Salem Libraries are all great places to check out if you're looking for something to do with kids. They all have weekly activities like story time and music classes for free that you can find on their website. The Salem Library is my favorite to bring kids to because they have a full play area and you can bring food inside. The Swampscott Library has a great train set, if your little one is into vehicles!
The Jeremiah Lee Mansion
This is one of the many historic spots in downtown Marblehead and is a mansion preserved from 1768, with furniture and art from the time. This is also a place you can bring children.
North Shore Children's Museum
If your kids are coming along for the weekend and need something to do with whoever is watching them on the wedding day, this children's museum is a great place to check out! It has cute themed rooms and it's very interactive.
Old Town House
Old Town Marblehead is a quaint, historic fun place to walk around and shop. There are restaurants and boutiques (Shanna's favorite is Sistas, a high-end second hand store).
Salem Ferry
The ferry goes right into Boston and is a fun way to get to the city.
Newburyport
Newburyport is a fun place to spend the day and is just 30 minutes from Salem.
Rockport
The Proposal was filmed in Rockport, something I remind Mikey of every time we go. Snap a pic with the famous red building and enjoy a seaside town with lots of charm.
Abbot Hall
This is another historic place to check out in Marblehead, with displays and art.
5 Corners Kitchen
Our favorite date night spot! This one is on the pricier side, but has amazing food and a great atmosphere!
Bit Bar Salem
Arcade Bar and restaurant in downtown Salem. Children are allowed in before 7 p.m.
The Hidden Door
This is a hidden speakeasy and has a great vibe. It's super unique and you enter through what looks like a bookshelf. It's right by our favorite date night spot, 5 Corners, so it's a perfect spot to go before or after dinner.
Howling Wolf Taqueria
This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and a place Shanna orders from way too often.
Longboards Restaurant & Bar
Delicious drinks and there's something on the menu for everyone. Right in downtown Salem by the water.
Sea Level Oyster Bar
Great seafood and right on the water! We brought Mikey's family here the first time they visited.
Ugly Mug Diner
This is a great spot for breakfast, but it gets crowded fast, so go early or give yourself time for a wait.
Tides Restaurants and Pub
If you want to check out the town we are getting married in, Nahant, this is a great restaurant in town!
