Our love story began on Hinge. After a few friends tried and failed to find someone for Samantha, her mom decided she deserved to have a turn to swipe. That’s how Shane came into the picture. Samantha's mom picked him because of his red hair and how he reminded her of her niece's husband, who always made her laugh. Her instinct turned out to be spot on. After two tries to meet in person, our first date finally happened at a local pizza place on November 13th. Now, seven years later, we’re getting married on the seventh anniversary of that first date. Funny enough, our wedding falls on Friday the 13th, just like Samantha’s parents, who got married on a Friday the 13th in February under a full moon 40 years ago. For our second date, we went to see the movie Joker and made a funny discovery: Samantha has the same last name as the Joker himself. Shane might have wondered about his life choices and safety for a second, but fortunately enough, many more dates followed, filled with laughter and great conversations. In the past seven years, we have made countless trips to Seaside, Wildwood, and Angry Orchard, gotten Shane his first passport for a trip abroad, and made so many memories together. We’ve celebrated milestones, helped each other through tough times, and built a life full of love and laughter. What began with a swipe, a mom’s instinct, and a slice of pizza has become the love of our lives. We can’t wait to start this next chapter and celebrate with all the people we love.
