Matron of Honor
God brought this beautiful flower by the name of Shani K Glover in my life at the age of 13! A way to truly see someone’s heart is through their ministry when NO ONE is looking. I was blessed to see and feel her heart in MANY capacities from step to choir and beyond. Shani genuinelyLIFTS her light, love, smile, heart, and has blessed my entire life and so many others. This God ordained friendship blossomed into a beautiful sisterhood that I am FOREVER grateful for THROUGH IT ALL! It is an indescribable HONOR and PRIVILEGE for Uncle E and I to be able to hold, guide, and stand behind this Marvelous union of love and family! We love you already Uncle BaBa and are so grateful for how you love our sister and baby Cheerio! Down the aisle and BEYOND..WE are all ON CLOUD HINES!!!

For as long as I could remember though .. you’ve been my Sisterrrr (cuz that’s literally how we say it .. every time lol)You’ve been my sister for the past 14 years ... and there’s no ending in sight. I can’t wait to celebrate your new union with you. Thank you again for choosing me 💛

My name is Carleen! I was born and raised in Brooklyn and I am currently a Certified Surgical Technologist specializing in orthopedic, Gyn, and thoracic cancer. I met Shani in middle school when we were about 12 years old. I started a new school and realized that everyone knew each other since kindergarten. I started hanging with the wrong crowd and quickly realized that I needed new friends. I remember seeing her in the auditorium one day and noticed her smile and how she got along with everyone. I remember saying to myself that I needed to be her friend. I walked up to her and simply said, “We should be twins” and the rest is history. I am honored to be apart of my sister’s beginning to her happily ever after.

I’ve spent the past 6 years working with middle school students. In my role as an educator, I have worked with and advocated for students with disabilities and dedicated time to developing curricula that reflects our children and our history. Shani and I met in 2006 in Beacon’s cafeteria. Although she and I didn’t have any classes together during our freshman year, our souls gravitated towards one another's. From countless lunch periods singing old songs, sharing our crazy teenage stories, hanging out in Ms.Duran’s classroom and a litany of other fun events, we’ve done it all! Shani, my sister, my friend, I am happy to be a part of this celebration of love. I am grateful to have you in my life and blessed to be by your side during this unification of souls.

I am simply one of the vessels through which God demonstrates grace, elegance, beauty and intellect with a lil bit of spice. Bronx native, currently residing in Brooklyn. I burn candles and advocate relentlessly for the educational justice of students with learning disabilities. When I first saw Shani, she was probably wearing Jordans, gold jewelry, hair slicked back into a ponytail and giggling. I remember admiring her beautiful eyes and captivating smile. In college, she would always come over to our dorm and truly see me in my element and never judged me. It was her acceptance of all aspects of me that easily made us sisters for life. Shani, I am so in love with all that you are. I am so honored to stand by your side and witness the beginning of an everlasting love with Brandon.

Hailing from Dayton, OH; the spirit of urban education and community uplift brought me to NYC. Almost 7 years later, I’m still carrying out my life’s work as a Elementary School Principal with hopes of providing a strong, foundational education for scholars in East Flatbush. The story of our sisterhood is always a special one and started in the middle of Greencastle, Indiana. My first year of college was particularly tough. I spent many nights praying for sincere friendships. When I first saw her in the campus Hub I immediately noticed how kind spirited and bubbly she was. Her laugh. Her warmth. Her light. It all felt like home. With a hybrid of humor and awkward candor I said to her, “we’re so much alike, we should be friends!” Shani, my kindred spirit- my forever twin.

I’m Sará Singa! Singer, Director, Teacher, Planner, Game Master, Baker, and Small Business Owner. I’ve known the beautiful bride Shani, also known to me as “Shanzz” for over 15 years from CCC! Ever since, she’s literally been a light in a dark place and has been a true friend and sister to me! Shani is one of the most strongest and loyal people that I know, which is inspiring and priceless! I’m so honored, blessed, and ecstatic to be apart of her Bride Tribe, as she and her love Brandon prepare to say their “I Do’s”. Thank you Brandon for caring, loving and wanting to commit to my sis for life! She deserves THE WORLD!

All the way from Brooklyn NY the home of Biggie And Jay “The best borough in my eyes” The story of me and Brandon’s friendship came about and formed before we even knew we were related. We’re both into basketball. We were together everyday whether it was playing in tournaments, outside playing kickball, or manhunt, at each other’s house watching sports or movies re-enacting what was done, or just sitting outside and helping others with their groceries etc. As we grew older i don’t look at him as my cousin he’s more so like my brother and i couldn’t be more proud of him on his journey of marriage. I LOVE YOU BRO!!! BAD BOYS FOR LIFE HANNNN

I’m going to try to not make this about me but, you know, things happen. Me and Brandon met when we were kids. Right from the start, he was open and welcomed me into his friend group and we’ve been tight ever since. We’ve done everything from playing ball together, to being partners on the dance floor, to even living right across from each other. Our friendship has seen its share of ups and downs but we always manage to come together. As we’ve grown older, somewhat wiser and slightly apart, I can honestly say that I proud of the men that we’ve both become. As you enter this next stage of your life, I want you to know proud and happy I am of and for you. Congratulations my brother. I wish you both nothing short of happiness, love, excitement and joy for many, many years to come.

For over 10 years, I have been serving and advocating for marginalized communities, specifically youth and families of color. Currently, I’m an Instructional Coach and Teacher for a Middle School in Brooklyn and pursuing studies in Mental Health Counseling. Shani and I met Freshmen year at DePauw in Foundations of Communication. Shani’s smile, along with her laugh and personality, lit up every room she entered. She had an effortless ability to relate to others and spark joy and love in every conversation. She is the Razzle to my Dazzle LOL. 6 years later, she blessed me with one of the greatest gifts of my life my Godson, D’Vonte Savion. I’m so privileged and blessed to stand by my Bestfriend as she declares her love for Brandon and says “I do”!

I’m the Puertominican. Brandon and I met in 2010 during our first year in college. I was roaming up and down the halls and I saw Brandon’s room door was open, he was cleaning. I asked “yo, you happen to have any conditioner”. He looked at me with that Brandon stare and asked me “what’s that”. From there on we went to parties, the cafe, played ball and eventually we had our lil sully group. Brandon has become one of my best and closest friends over the years and by far one of the best dads I know. He’s helped me through a lot of tough times in my life like when I first found out about being a dad. He helped me compose myself and made me realize it’s time to become a man. I’ve always looked up to him as a big Brother well because he is my Brother.  I Love You Bro. I’m so happy for you!!!
