What’s the weather like in July?
Answer
Colorado mountain weather is sunny but can change quickly. Expect warm days (70s–80s°F), cooler evenings (50s°F or lower), and be prepared for the possibility of an afternoon rain shower. Bring layers—you’ll need a jacket once the sun sets.

Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors?
Answer
Yes! Both will be outdoors, so plan accordingly for sunny summer weather, but be prepared in case an afternoon rain shower blows through.

How do I handle the altitude?
Answer
We’ll be at a higher elevation, so drink plenty of water, pace yourself with alcohol, and consider arriving a day early to acclimate if you’re coming from lower elevations. We recommend sunscreen and SPF15 lip balm to protect from the more intense UV rays.

The address is 18078 CO-7, Lyons, CO 80540. Although the street address is listed as Lyons, the venue is actually a 20 minute drive up CO-7 from Lyons. Cell service can be spotty, so download directions ahead of time. Mountain roads can be slower than expected.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM. Please plan to arrive 15–20 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating.

Will there be bugs?
Answer
The wedding will be outside near several wilderness areas, so it is possible there will be bugs! We recommend bringing insect repellant just in case.

Is there nearby lodging?
Answer
Yes! At the wedding venue there is a hostel-style sleeping area that we are making available to guests at no cost. Please reach out to us if you are interested. We also have a temporary courtesy hold for our guests to make reservations at the Allenspark Lodge Bed and Breakfast, which is 5 minutes from the wedding venue. We recommend booking lodging as early as possible, because the area is quite busy in the summers and reservations fill fast.
