Sherad: Till this day, I still don't know how we became friends on social media-but thank God we did. We never met or even spoke. All I knew was that I had to have her. Behind the scenes, I was stalking her Facebook, asking mutual friends about her, curious to know who she was and what she was about. Until one day, I decided to throw all my chips on the table and ask her out on a date. Thankfully, she said yes. With jitters running high as I drove to pick her up for our night out, I had to call on a good friend to calm my nerves... Mr. Don Julio! After searching for 20 minutes for an ABC store and taking two quick shots, I was finally ready to start our date. And what a night it was. We ate, sang, smoked hookah, had deep conversations, and just truly enjoyed each other's company. That was the night I knew she was the one. Less than a month later, we made it official. I couldn't risk the chance of someone else coming in and taking what was meant to be mine. Through therapy, I learned that couples should go through four seasons before making any big decisions. I took that advice to heart-because I wanted this to last. As days turned into months, I became more and more sure she was going to be my wife. For months, I brainstormed how and where I would propose. Consumed with the desire to make it perfect. Finally, everything began falling into place. The table was set. Time flew by, and before I knew it, the big day was near. After countless meetings, phone calls, and flights in and out of town shopping for the perfect ring, my crew and I got to work and made 12/7/2024 one of the happiest days of my life. The day I asked her to be my wife. Now the table is set once again.... April 13, 2026- the day you officially become Shanetta Nicole Julien. Shanetta: I'm not sure either how exactly we became friends on social media. Not knowing exactly who he was, he would always tell our mutual friend to deliver a message to me. And each time she seen me she would say, Chileeee Sherad said hi, and I would say, “ok, tell him I said hi” As I would see him traveling and popping up on my timeline more often, I would think, dang he’s gone again, my type of guy! Lol. I always said, there’s something about him, I just couldn’t put my finger on it. Over time we would chat about which trips we had coming up and which Island we were headed to next. Then one day, he messaged me and asked if he could take me on a date. I was a little surprised, but I agreed. He made plans, set up everything but I cancelled on him the day before. I felt horrible! I reached out and apologized and told him I was coming to Richmond to make it up, he said it was ok. We rescheduled another date and, it was one of the most amazing dates. He picked me up and had a gift bag with all the things I told him I liked from many of our previous conversations. He listened! That night we ate, talked for hours, went to a lounge but the highlight was our in car concert! He played a reggae mix, But y’all, HE KNEW THE WORDS! LOL I said yep this is it! I finally had someone that loves Caribbean music just as much as I did. Our relationship blossomed more than I think either of us expected. We were true friends first. And that set the foundation of something more beautiful that was to come. He was very intentional from the start and always said and knew what he wanted. He would always say, “you’re going to be my wife’, I’m like yea, show me. I wasn’t big on words, actions meant more. Every day he would show me in some form what true love feels like. When people would say, when you’ve found the “One” you will know. And I knew I did. On Dec 7, 2024, he truly showed his heart and love for me. He planned the most amazing Surprise birthday parties I’ve ever had. And guess what, our mutual friend pulled me from the party to talk, and walked me into a room filled with roses, our children, family and friends and he asked me to be his wife. Now I’m marrying the man GOD designed just for me.
