If you're planning many activities or sight seeing, definitely stay at any hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. It's a bit further away, but might as well tour around the city while you're here! Depending on what hotel you stay on the strip, generally it takes approx. 30-45 mins / 15-20 miles away from the wedding venue.
