Patty Haney

Mother of Shane

If you’ve ever wondered where Shane gets his zest for life and relentless positivity, look no further than his mother. She is Shane’s hero, and as each year passes, he can’t help but be more and more impressed by her. Shane sees a lot of similarities between Patty and Yaro - they are both capricorns, are very outgoing and will prioritize their loved ones even above themselves. Patty is super fun to hang out with and there are always many stories to look back on and laugh at with her. Some of our favorite shared memories with Patty include the Atlanta helicopter tour, the Christmas Eve casino visit and the Davis Cup in Spain.

Josefina Senzatela

Mother of Yaro

What can be said about the person that gave Yaro life? Besides the fact that Josefina is a beacon of warmth and charisma, she’s also Yaro’s mom and hero. She is the guiding light that sculpted him into the person he is today. Her boundless love and unwavering support have been the cornerstone of his journey. As we embark on this new chapter of our lives, we carry her wisdom, love and teachings with us, knowing that her presence continues to enrich our lives in countless ways. Our favorite shared memories with Josefina include dining at A Mano, enjoying the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and learning to dance the Flamenco in Spain.

Zachary Haney

Sibling of Shane

Zach and Shane shared a room together until Shane was 10 years old. They would spend countless nights building forts together, so Shane credits himself as Zach’s primary inspiration for the architectural masterpieces he engineers for city skylines today. Even though he’s Shane’s younger brother, Zach has been an inspiration for Shane in many ways too. He has great taste in music and is an incredible husband to Paige. Some of our favorite shared memories with Zachary was dining at Alinea in Chicago, enjoying Polar Express in concert and tasting wine at Cooper’s Hawk.

Dustin Gallion

Longtime Friend of Yaro

Dustin and Yaro met in Tampa over 12 years ago when Dustin relocated from North Carolina to enjoy the Florida sunshine. Dustin has been by Yaro’s side through his ups and downs and was a major influence in Yaro moving 400 miles north from Tampa to be in the South (aka Atlanta). Together the two have weathered the storm of failures and celebrated triumphs while forging a lasting friendship. With his sassy southern charm and unwavering loyalty, Dustin infuses every experience we share together with laughter, always making it an unforgettable memory. Our favorite shared memories with Dustin include chilling in the cabin’s hot tub, riding the Alpine coaster and stuffing our faces at Paula Deen’s restaurant.

Mikaela Fickes

Sibling of Shane

Mikaela is only 14 months younger than Shane, so they are practically Irish twins. They were both involved in music, theatre, and youth groups in high school, and they even graduated from Miami University at the same time. Mikaela is so thoughtful and is definitely the best about calling regularly. Shane enjoys sharing his Wordle score with her each morning, even if he does sometimes use her board to get the word quicker. Some of our favorite shared memories with Mikaela include playing Euchre on the rooftop, dancing to Meghan Trainor in the mountains and celebrating Yaro’s new job at The Home Depot in an Irish pub.

Antonio Wright

Longtime Friend of Yaro

In his early 20s, Yaro was a bit of a party animal, which is fitting to describe how Antonio entered his life in a serendipitous night over 14 years ago at a Tampa club. Since then Antonio has become his brother in spirit and constant inspiration. His unwavering support and infectious energy have illuminated Yaro’s path guiding him through life’s highs and lows. With his wisdom and encouragement, he has not only been a best friend but a catalyst for personal growth that has helped shape Yaro into the person he is today. Antonio and his husband Anthony are incredible fathers to their children, and the two are our greatest inspiration for how we want to grow our family. Our favorite shared memories with Antonio include watching the puppet show, sharing laughs over a charcuterie board and hanging out with the children.

Mara Schemel

Officiant

From the moment we met Mara at a neighbor dinner back in early 2022, we were instantly smitten. It was as if we had known her for ages. She was the first neighbor we invited to our unit for dinner, and her warmth and infectious laughter made our home feel truly alive. Little did we know that our first night of shared laughter would blossom into countless evenings of crafting cocktails and battling in Mario Party minigames. Whether we're strategizing over board games or belting out to Taylor Swift, Mara has woven herself into the fabric of our lives, making her family. Her genuine care for others and her unwavering commitment to inclusivity have touched us deeply. When it came time to think about who would join us in matrimony, there was no doubt in our minds Mara would be the one. She embodies the spirit of love and connection that we cherish, and having her officiate our wedding will make our special day even more meaningful.
