On Mackinac Island, the average high in September is 68°F and the average low is 54°F. We suggest bringing layers.
Our wedding will be primarily taking place outdoors on differing terrain. Please take this into consideration when planning your footwear for the day.
We are requesting formal attire for our wedding day. Tuxes and gowns are welcome, as well as suits and formal dresses! In true Kellyn fashion, don’t be afraid to experiment with color, patterns, frills, and statement silhouettes. For guests who choose to wear heels, opt for block heels or wedges, as the wedding and reception will be outdoors.
If your invitation says "and Guest" or a date is named, then yes. If not, we unfortunately cannot accommodate a plus one.
While we love your children, we are unable to accommodate them. We hope you will take this weekend as an opportunity for a "you getaway".
Please see the "Accommodations and Travel" page of our website for a list of places we recommend staying and the closest airports to our venue.
Ridesharing is not readily available in Northern Michigan, so we highly recommend renting a car or pre-booking a taxi service from the airport to Mackinac City if you are flying. Please note, no cars are permitted on Mackinac Island. Modes of transportation are horse drawn carriages and bicycles.
Mackinac Island is accessible only by ferry. Ferry schedules vary by season and weather, and popular departure times can fill quickly. We strongly recommend booking your ferry in advance and allowing extra travel time for a smooth arrival. Please note that in September, the last ferry departs at 7:00 PM on Thursdays and 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Ferries can be booked through www.shepplersferry.com. Be sure to use our wedding discount code 09wedding26 when booking.
If you know in advance that you will not be able to make it to the wedding or have any questions regarding the weekend, please reach out to our wedding planner, Meaghan (meaghan@foxandfernevents.com), as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Just know, you will be missed!
