To help make your trip as smooth as possible, we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions about our wedding day and the weekend festivities. Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, the dress code is Summer Formal. Think "Coastal Classy" as the overall vibe. Men can wear suits and tuxedos are also welcome. How and when should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP directly on our wedding website under the “RSVP” tab. We kindly ask that you respond by August 1, 2026, so we can finalize our plans. No need to RSVP yet — we’ll send formal invitations closer to the date with full details!

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

The Emerson Inn is located at 1 Cathedral Avenue in Rockport, MA. You can find directions on our wedding website under the “Travel” tab, or simply enter the venue name into your GPS or ride-share app. If you’re flying in, the nearest major airport is Boston Logan International (about 35 miles away). There is ample, free on-site parking at the venue as well.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Since many of our guests are staying at the Emerson Inn, we will not be providing separate transportation. There is ample parking available on-site, and ride-share services like Uber and local taxis are also accessible in the area.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There is parking at the Emerson Inn for our guests! Additionally - Uber/Lyfts are available in Rockport. We encourage you to schedule a ride in advance or call a taxi service (try Gloucester Taxi!)

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, unless your invitation specifically states otherwise, we kindly request that you make other arrangements for the evening. Thank you for understanding!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors with a stunning ocean backdrop (weather permitting), followed by an indoor reception at the inn.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Your invitation will specify if you have a plus-one. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out to us!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony - let our photographers capture the moment while you relax and enjoy! Feel free to snap away during the reception.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 3:00pm. We ask that you please arrive and find your seat no later than 2:45pm for a prompt start!

Is there an after party?

Answer

You must be joking right? The Roaring Rostads welcome you to the downstairs lounge of The Emerson Inn at 10pm to party all night long! Shannon will be jumping in the pool as well.
