Things To Do
Here on a weekday? Use the FREE Harbor Connector Boat!
Use the "Maritime Park" or "Pier 5" boat stops to get over to the other side of the harbor for free! Maritime Park dock is behind Ampersea in Fells Point and will take you over to Locust Point, Pier 5 is near the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse and will take you to the Inner Harbor/Rusty Scupper. Be aware that the Locust Point dock will also take you to Canton, so watch the timetable! :) It's FREE and FUN! There are also paid boats, at different docks, on the weekend where you can buy a pass for the day and get around to a LOT of our recommendations! :)
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore
Our wedding might be here, but not on the inside!
National Aquarium
The inner harbor doesn't have a lot going on aside from a few stores and a walk through, but the Aquarium is cool! You could walk here from the hotels or from the Federal Hill Park area, if you're good with a few miles.
Kneads Bakeshop & Café
Right across from our hotel, great place to stop for breakfast or lunch!
Ministry of Brewing
This is near Alec's old house. Alec met Shannon's parents here for the first time! Good beer and a very cool spot!
Ekiben
One of our favorite places to get take-out in the city. It's asian fusion food. Get the Neighborhood Bird Bun!
Max's Taphouse
Great spot with literally hundreds of rotating beers. Our day 2 party is here!
Thames Street Oyster House
If you want crab/seafood near the hotels, we've heard good things about this spot. We haven't been because we're not big seafood people but it's always recommended!
Papi's Tacos
One of our favorite taco spots in Fell's!
The Sound Garden-Baltimore
If you're as into records as Alec is, check out Soundgarden! Lots of other stores nearby, too! We even took our engagement photos here.
Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine
Shannon goes to walk and read here all the time! Parking and walking the loop around the outside on the water is free. If you want to go into the fort (which we discovered last year was actually pretty cool), there is a fee.
American Visionary Art Museum
Super cool and quirky museum in our neighborhood!
Federal Hill Park
Take a walk or a scooter ride through the harbor and up to the top of Fed Hill! The park has great viewpoints. Pair this with American Visionary Museum (next door) and a walk to Cross Street Market or restaurants nearby. This is our neighborhood! :)
Magerks Pub & Grill Federal Hill
One of our favorite places in our neighborhood. Get a cheesesteak! Tons of nearby bars and restaurants nearby as well if you want something different. Pair this with American Visionary / Federal Hill Park.
Cross Street Market
Get our favorite burgers from Southside Burger Bar, a bowl from Chicken Lab, or a bunch of other options for food in the market!
Crossbar Der Biergarten
If you're with a big group, we recommend coming here since they have big tables! There's also a speakeasy upstairs with great cocktails.
Nick's Fish House
The BEST spot if you want crabs or other seafood! Right on the water, and you can sit outside -- plus there's usually bands playing. Pair this with Sagamore Distillery!
Sagamore Spirit Distillery
Come for a distillery tour or just to enjoy the bar and the views. Pair this with Nick's Fish House! The Under Armour flagship store is also nearby, if you're into that.
