If “Two heads are better than one.” were people, DeAuna and Shakoyia would definitely be the pair. DeAuna has been one of the greatest influences to Shakoyia inspiring her to move forward with a new career path. Shortly after, DeAuna began to build her very own empire, Sky Rose Glam Bar, the home of teeth whitening, makeup, and permanent makeup artistry. The brightest smile in the room definitely belongs to this woman. Truly a woman of many talents with the biggest heart full of love! She is the best friend, sister, aunt, and supporter a woman could ever have. Shakoyia is blessed beyond measure to have her as a friend. Brother Mosely is one of the wisest, reasonable and woke individuals Marvin has ever come across. He is blessed to have Detrich in his corner and often confides in him for genuine advice and his honest opinion regarding some of life’s most challenging moments. Their relationship was also forged from the fire of youth sports, as football made them family. D is the true epitome of staying solid. Mary Mo, Shakoyia’s left brain lobe because she ain’t never right. Shakoyia and Mary both come from very similar southern backgrounds which they built the foundation of their friendship on. These two were head butting at hello and the unwillingness to back down to one another is what started a friendship that left no room for sugar coating anything. Bonding over southern cuisine, investments, success, partying and family, hardly no time passed before these two became inseparable. Mary is valued beyond measure and one of the few people Shakoyia and Marvin can call in the middle of the night that will come running. No questions asked. Arguably the most talented of Marvin’s friends, P.U.R.P. and Marvin first met at the staple childcare center of the North Forrest community where their life-time friendship was established. Jeremy has always been the voice of reason and logic in their core group of friends, despite the fact that he is one of the youngest. Most importantly, Marvin can always count on Jeremy to bring a bottle of the finest whiskey to any function along with a good time. Their brotherhood has strengthened over time despite being states away and the hustle and bustle of life on a day to day basis. Lakeshia, is a woman of many talents and currently growing in the medical field as a nurse. Don’t let the warm bedside mannerisms fool you, when the scrubs come off, it’s a good girl gone bad “Lit”uation. Spotlights on or off, she will always be the life of the party. Spot the highest heels in the room and you will have found Lakeshia. This woman only knows one direction and that’s up! Although Cam is Marvin’s baby brother by blood, due to a significant age difference (he was obviously not planned) he probably really takes on the role of his oldest son. If you know Cam, he is typically the biggest and loudest personality in the room and is full of energy and life. He is very ambitious, loving and truly a go getter. Her loyalty is one of the many reasons their relationship has flourished. Nabel has a way of healing people through her words. You will either be in tears from laughing so hard or in tears from hearing the ugly truth. Either way, she holds your hand til the end and it’s definitely the “til death do us part” for us! Tequila is her poison and don’t approach her at the wedding unless you have a little twerk in you.

Kotton is actually Marvin’s “brousin”, meaning they are actually blood-related cousins but grew up together like brothers. Carlton will definitely be the clown of any gathering and is loaded with an arsenal of insults and an infectious laugh… trust me, you don’t want no smoke with the jokes from brodie. As another Day 1, Carlton’s house was always a home away from home for all of our childhood friends. Mama Kim embraced each of us as her own sons and didn’t hesitate to chastise us when we were wrong while being our biggest cheerleader to celebrate our individual accomplishments.
