Fur Babies

Our furbabies hold a very special place in our hearts, and we want to share a little about them with you! Below, you’ll find photos and stories of our current companions, as well as those we’ve lost but who will always be part of our family. Each one has brought love, laughter, and unforgettable memories into our lives, and we’re excited to celebrate them alongside our wedding day.

Aidoneus

The pony

Our Siberian Husky is convinced he’s actually a giant cat and will happily argue with you about just about anything. Despite his stubborn streak, he’s truly a gentle giant. In the photo, you’ll see him posing proudly next to two of his favorite things: the hostas he loves to flatten with his big fluffy body, and his beloved purple Wubba toy that he enthusiastically tosses around (watch your head—it may “accidentally” hit you!). He’ll be turning 6 years old this coming January, and he continues to fill our lives with sass, laughter, and love.

Atticus

The catticus

Atticus is our 8-year-old, grey and white Siberian cat who tips the scales at an impressive 16 pounds of pure fluff. He’s a big, cuddly boy with a quirky foot fetish—you can usually find his face buried in our dirty work shoes or sneaking off with socks he’s “claimed.” Atticus also has a flair for the dramatic: if you dare stop petting him before he’s ready, prepare for him to fight you for every ounce of attention.

Kasha (a.k.a. Tato)

The Baby Monster

Kasha is our 2-year-old Maine Coon tortie who came to us as Potato—though these days she mostly goes by “Tato” (unless she’s in trouble, then it’s back to her government name). This giant fluff ball already weighs 12 pounds and somehow is still growing. She’s equal parts chaos and charm: always talking, chasing us around like a dog, and doing absolutely everything in her power to annoy us. But no matter how much mischief she stirs up, one look at that cute little face and all is forgiven.

Killian

The Void

🌙 In Loving Memory 🌙 Though Killian is no longer with us, he will always hold a special place in our hearts. Killian was our beloved black cat, a mischievous little shadow who Shai welcomed into the family in the summer of 2015. He would have celebrated his 10th birthday this June. True to his “void” nature, he always had something to say and never hesitated to argue with us—especially when food was involved. Killian was notorious for trying to steal bites right off your plate (or even from your mouth if he had the chance), though he’d look up at you with the sweetest, most innocent eyes while doing it. As much as he was a cuddle bug, he also insisted on joining us at the dinner table like one of the family. He may no longer be with us, but his sass, charm, and endless love will forever be a part of our lives.

Artemis

Miss Hairy

(In Memoriam) Artemis came into our lives in 2019, a once-feral cat who quickly made herself queen of the household. She had the most unique way of “talking,” communicating only through soft hums and little songs that made us laugh every time. With her squirrel-like movements and love of perching in the highest hiding spots, Artemis always kept us on our toes, watching us from above like true royalty. Her favorite human was Michael, who she adored cuddling with, though she also loved keeping a watchful eye on the birds and creatures outside the window—always ready to issue a dramatic threat or two. Forever our songbird and queen, she will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Mimiteh & Oni

Snow White & The monster

Mimiteh (In Memoriam) Also known as Snow White, Mimiteh was Shai’s very first dog — chosen at 15 years old instead of a traditional Quinceanera. Mimi was a pure white husky with a larger-than-life personality. She had an endless love for apples (far more than any normal dog!) and was the proud mama of several litters, including her pup Dony. While most dogs bark and huskies are known for their howls, Mimi had her own unforgettable style — she would scream, leaving everyone bewildered and laughing. She was a force, a monster of a doggy in the most unforgettable way, and she’ll always be remembered as Shai’s first and most dramatic fur baby. Oni (In Memoriam) The brown-and-white husky Oni was equal parts mischief and charm — and Mimi’s devoted doggy husband. Together, they were quite the pair, partners in both chaos and love. Oni had a knack for escaping the house and turning every season into a family chase — through snow, rain, or sunshine. His strength was unmatched; he loved breaking through fences and could even carry bricks in his mouth! Despite his wild streak, Oni was also the fluffiest dancer, always trying to spin around with Shai’s family members and filling the house with laughter (and plenty of chaos). Oni’s spirit was untamed, his love undeniable, and he’ll forever be remembered as the playful trickster of the pack.
