Shae & Greg met their junior year of college on the University of Rochester's Men's Rowing Team. Shae joined the team as a coxswain and Greg joined as a novice rower. They connected on their mutual love of backpacking and met up for coffee for the first time at their favorite cafe, Glen Edith.

In the summer of 2022, over the fourth of July weekend, Greg and Shae went camping with friends in Silverton, Colorado. They hiked up to a beautiful place called Island Lake with their two pups, Moose & Minnow, and friends Devin, Jack and Sierra. When they finally reached the top, Shae turned around and saw Greg down on one knee with a ring in his hand!
