Our story starts with an Algebra One class at Haas Hall Academy in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We were 13 years old, and Seylor was starting the school year a few days after the year had begun. Connor says he still remembers when she walked into the classroom. In his words, “She walked in, and I was infatuated.” Seylor, on the other hand, was predictably nervous to get started with the curriculum. “Much to my dismay at the time,” says Connor, “we continued as just friends. It was okay, though, because I knew I was playing the long game.” Through our high school years, we were very close friends, even when Connor’s family moved to Texas during our junior year of high school. We stayed in touch, visited back and forth, and Connor even drove five hours back to Arkansas so that we could go to Senior prom together. In May of our senior year, we found out that we had chosen to go to the same university, truly by chance. Maybe then we should have both known that falling in love with each other was inevitable. Being “just friends” would never be enough, and by the spring of our freshman year, we decided that it was time we finally gave “us” a shot. Something had clicked, and we both knew that we were exactly where we were supposed to be, with each other. Through college, the start of Connor’s career, and the start of Seylor’s law school, we had the time of our lives falling in love with each version of each other. In December 2024, Connor proposed to Seylor while on a trip to Guam. On an empty, sunset colored beach, Connor’s long game finally came to a close when Seylor gave the easiest yes of her life. We have had the most incredible years falling in love with each other so far, and we truly can’t wait to celebrate that love with all of you as we continue forever together. Cheers to unending friendship, inevitable love, and men who play the long game.
