We're Getting Married!

As you all know, James & Annie have known each other for almost as long as they can remember. They first met in Mrs. Alexander's kindergarten class, and from there, journeyed all the way through grade school together, staying close friends until graduating from Seaholm High School in 2012. Going their separate ways for college allowed them to grow individually and create amazing friendships elsewhere, but after both studying abroad their summer after Junior Year- James in Europe and Annie in Australia- being on the other sides of the world made them come home and realize their true friendship could turn into something more. A trip to Ocean City, New Jersey with the Sevecs just weeks after they returned from their abroad programs solidified their relationship-- and they have been growing better together ever since.

After a 2020 winter of quarantining and summer of small Michigan get-aways, we were finally on our first flight together, heading back to Ocean City, New Jersey (where it all began) for a long weekend with the Sevecs. Landing late on Friday night, we stayed up until 4am with the newly engaged Lindsay & Dillon; celebrating with laughs and late night drinks. The wake up on Saturday was slow, with a mimosa brunch and lots of family time. Although as great as James usually is with the family, he was very eager to get down to the beach that morning. Annie thought maybe he just needed some air after a big night, so they ventured down to the water's edge on a cloudy morning. After a few minutes of toes in the sand, the sky seemed to be lightening up, and Lindsay and Dillon came down to the beach with the camera to take family photos. Before Annie could realize that the family wasn't all there yet for "family photos", James dropped to his knee for the most beautiful proposal. In a whirlwind of emotions, an even bigger surpirse was that the entire Bertrand Family then came running onto the beach to celebrate us, followed by the remainder of the Sevec family. The champagne was popped, toasts were made, and the day couldn't have been more full of celebration!
