Things To Do

Memorial Union Terrace

Memorial Union Terrace

800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706
, (608) 265-3000

A great place to sit on the water while enjoying local beers or ice cream.

Babcock Hall Dairy Store

Babcock Hall Dairy Store

1605 Linden Drive, Madison, WI 53706
, (608) 262-3045

Seton's favorite lunch spot! Delicious wraps, sandwiches, and ice cream. The cheese and ice cream are even made right on campus! Usual Hours: Mon-Fri: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Sat: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Sun: Closed

The Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned

23 North Pinckney Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 310-4545

Possibly the best cheese curds in existence. The rest of their food is delicious as well.

Dane County Farmers Market

Dane County Farmers Market

200 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 455-1999

Probably our #1 recommendation if you're looking for something to do Saturday morning. This gigantic farmers' market is held every Saturday morning on the Capitol Square. It has endless samples of cheese (what's the record for the number of times "cheese" has been mentioned on a wedding website?), fresh fruits and vegetables, and Stella's Hot and Spicy Cheese Bread (which we highly recommend).

Wisconsin State Capital

Wisconsin State Capital

2 East Main Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 266-0382

Definitely worth popping in while you're up at the farmers' market. The capital is beautiful, and it's free to explore on Saturday mornings.

State Street

State Street

State Street, Madison, WI

Yes, we're recommending an entire street. State Street gives you a great taste of Madison. It's perfect to explore at any time of day, whether you're looking for a coffee, a beer, a meal, or some shopping. Plus it leads straight to the capital, giving a really beautiful view.

Henry Vilas Zoo

Henry Vilas Zoo

702 South Randall Avenue, Madison, WI 53715
, (608) 258-9490

If you love lions, tigers, and bears (or animals in general really), then swing over to the Henry Vilas Zoo. Aside from getting to see tons of cute and ferocious creatures, it's also FREE, which is our favorite kind of activity.

Greenbush Bakery

Greenbush Bakery

1305 Regent Street, Madison, WI 53715
, (608) 257-1151

You're going to eat and drink mass quantities of calories at the wedding anyway, so why not start your day off with a delicious donut (or several)? Greenbush looks pretty modest on the outside, but their donuts are top notch. If you have a car, this is only a 3 minute drive from the hotel. If not, it's a 20 minute walk, which can make you feel better about what you're consuming. It's a win-win!

Red Shed

Red Shed

406 North Frances Street, Madison, WI 53703
, (608) 256-2214

A, shall we say, "rustic" bar in downtown Madison. This comes highly recommended by Blake. It was a bar that we spent many nights in, much to Seton's chagrin. They do serve some pretty delicious Long Island iced teas in mason jars, though.
