Officiant
Greg and Erin met in 2017 when Erin joined the Admissions staff at The College of Idaho. From the start, they got along really well. Erin jokes that they could literally not be more different, but that works quite well for their friendship. Erin goes to Greg for advice on life's dilemmas, financial matters, and her most frequent question, "Am I overreacting?" Greg somehow conned Laura into marrying him and now they have Geneva Rose and Irelynn Elizabeth. Greg and Laura recently relocated to South Dakota.
Man of Honor
Erin's big brother - quite possibly the best big brother in the world, nay, the universe. As they've gotten older, Erin and Alex have grown closer than ever and share a deep love for desserts, especially Bright's Ice Cream in downtown Walla Walla. Anyone that has spent time with Alex knows how nurturing, kind, fun, intelligent, and gracious he is. Erin has learned many great lessons from Alex over the years. Self-advocacy, strength, and resilience, to name a few. Also - how to pull a fast one on mom and dad. Let's put it this way: Alex walked so Erin could run.
Best Man
Tracy and Seth have been best friends for as long as Seth can remember. In fact their parents were friends before either of them were born. Seth considers Tracy's parents, Lisa and Jay Bailet, as his second parents. They were always there for Seth through difficult times in his childhood. Such as the time Seth ran away from home because he wanted to go rock climbing (stupid kid, haha). Jay and Lisa let him stay with them until he went back home. Seth has always been able to count on Tracy, weather it be for helpful advice, life suggestions, or to call Seth out on his negative behavior. And no matter how long they go without talking, or seeing each other, they both know that their friendship won't fade.
Matron of Honor
Have you seen Parks and Recreation? If so, Erin is to Leslie, as Ashley is to Ann. If that does not make sense to you, it simply means that Erin has been infatuated with Ashley since the moment she met her. Ashley has many admiral qualities that Erin does not have. For example, Ashley lets things roll off her shoulders and doesn't sweat the small stuff. Erin on the other hand still remembers the time Levin Fox accidentally hit her in the face with a tetherball in 4th grade and she has never, ever, EVER forgiven him. In all seriousness, Ashley is an incredible friend, mother, wife, and person. Ashley is married to Carl, who is the large Nebraskan man you will be able to pick out of the crowd at our wedding. Together, they are parents to Flower Girl Cora, and have a little boy on the way!
Groomsman
As Seth's older brother Milton helped Seth learn and grow throughout his entire life. Their relationship has had many up's and down's. Growing up together they would either be very helpful and encouraging towards each other, or quite possibly at each other's throat. No matter what happened they were always brothers, but as they matured they have become very close friends as well.
Bridesmaid
Erin met Laura through Greg and they were fast friends - bonding over red wine, womanhood, and trashy television. Laura is the most effervescent woman on planet Earth. Anyone and everyone who meets Laura is instantly drawn to her. She is enormously kind, generous, intelligent, supportive, and beautiful. Somehow, she said yes to marrying Greg, our officiant. They have two beautiful daughters named Geneva Rose and Irelynn Elizabeth. The Franz family resides in South Dakota (brrrrr).
Groomsman
Seth first met Chef Adam Sundin at his job interview for The Club at SpurWing. Seth had applied to work on the grounds crew, but because he had previous cooking experience the Executive Chef, Adam, wanted an interview. Luckily Seth agreed to work in the kitchen. Adam helped Seth discover his love for cooking and food. As Seth worked under Chef Adam's guidance his cooking techniques grew and became refined, along with their friendship. After 2 years Seth was promoted to Sous Chef. They continued to work closely together for 3 more years until Seth left SpurWing to find greener pastures. Their friendship has continued to grow. Adam has been a helpful mentor for Seth's growth in the kitchen but more importantly to his growth in life.
Bridesmaid
Ellie and Erin met while both working for Linfield College. Ellie initially thought Erin was older than she was due to how professional she came off. Ellie quickly learned that Erin was only professional when legally obligated to be from 8am-5pm M-F. Erin was drawn to Ellie because of her wonderfully dry sense of humor and maturity. No, really - Ellie is wise beyond her years. She and her husband Rick live in Portland with their rescue pup Dante.
Groomsman
Calvin Watts was hired as the Sous Chef at SpurWing shortly after Seth was hired as a cook. Once Seth saw past Calvin's resting b*!@# face, they quickly became close friends (haha!!). Calvin also had a major roll in Seth's growth in the kitchen as well as life. At work Calvin was always teaching and sharing with Seth his knowledge of food and cooking. Outside of work he has always been there for Seth. Weather it was to blow off steam with a beer after a hectic shift, or to talk about life and love. Calvin has become one of Seth's closest confidants.
Bridesmaid
Amy and Erin met at the ripe age of six. Living only a block away from each other, they were together constantly. So much so, Amy, an only child, had a bunk bed in her room for sleepovers. From Kindergarten through Senior year, Amy has been a constant friend in Erin's life. Amy is the calm to Erin's chaos. Growing up, Amy was known as the smart, artistic one (spoiler: she is still very smart and very artistic). Erin was the one who refused to brush her hair - so - opposites attract. Amy is a kind, warm, funny, and supportive friend that Erin has been so lucky to have in her life for so long. Amy is married to Bryce and like us, had to postpone their wedding due to COVID. Their wedding is just three weeks before ours in beautiful North Carolina!
Flower Girl
The product of two amazing humans - Ashley and Carl Mehaffie. This almost 3 year old loves to wrestle, eat, and is the Guinness world record holder of having seen the critically acclaimed film, The Lorax, more than any other human alive. She is fun and sweet and we love her dearly. However, this stoic toddler does not commonly smile for pictures, so some bribery will be necessary.
