Seneca is one of 11 lakes which make up the Finger Lakes. The bottom of the lake is a 45 minute drive from Owego, where the reception will be. The top of the lake is under 2 hours to get to the top of. The wine trail would be a whole day activity.
Cayuga Lake is directly east of Seneca Lake. The base of the lake is about 45 minutes from Owego in a town called Ithaca. Ithaca is where Cornell University is located. It is an hour and a half drive to the top of the lake.
Bring your passport, because half of Niagara Falls State Park is in Canada. The state park is about a four hour drive from Owego, NY.
Ithaca is a city on Cayuga Lake, in New York’s Finger Lakes region. It’s home to Cornell University and its I.M. Pei–designed Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art. The sprawling Cornell Botanic Gardens includes an arboretum and multi-tiered Cascadilla Falls. Other waterfalls in the area include Ithaca Falls, near downtown. Southwest, Buttermilk Falls and Robert H. Treman state parks offer wooded gorges and natural pools.
In the Finger lakes of Upstate New York, there are numerous water falls to visit. The waterfall nearest to Owego will be She-Qua-Ga Falls, which is only an hour away. It is located in the town of Montour and is not far from Watkins Glen State Park.
Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course.
