Matron of Honor
Serene is my Oldest sister; when we were kids, we weren't the closest, to say the least. We fought like cats and dogs, but I knew she always had my back. Over the years, our relationship has blossomed into a beautiful friendship. I don't know where I would be without her. She taught me so much in life, and I couldn't thank her enough. I'm honored to be the Matron of Honor and support her during this exciting time. Serene, you mean the world to me, and I love you and Matt so much, and I can't wait to celebrate with the both of you.
Best Man
Matt has always been like a brother to me. Growing up together, it was obvious that Matt and I were pretty different, and not just because I (allegedly) got away with everything. He was the baseball player blasting Three 6 Mafia down the streets of our neighborhood, and I was more of the swoopy hair, My Chemical Romance variety. Yes, our differences would cause the normal brotherly spats over game controllers and aux cords. But I think we’ve developed a great relationship over the years because of those differences. And over time we actually grew to have a lot of common interests. From stunningly accurate Gordon Ramsey impressions to stacking up each other’s vinyl collection, we get each other now more than ever. I’ve never seen Matt happier and more himself than when Serene came into his life. Watching their relationship grow over the years has been beyond rewarding. I feel so grateful to have developed my own amazing friendship with Serene, who I can’t wait to (officially) call my sister. I’m so honored to be Matt’s best man and celebrate this day with both of them!
Maid of Honor
Serene and I met in 7th grade - and off that initial encounter, I never would’ve imagined that we’d be here, in our 18th year of friendship. She was bold and vocal when I couldn’t be, and it intimidated me as a teenager. But after we clicked, we were inseparable and that vocalness became something I love about her most to this day because if the service is bad honey, she’s speaking up. Now I look at the woman she has grown into over this second half of our lives and I see family more than a friend. She’s my kids auntie. She’s my confidant. She’s my therapist when mine gets too expensive lol. She’s a woman who inspires me to this day. She’s my best friend!
Groomsman
Matt and I have been friends for over two decades. When we first met, we were sitting next to each other in our 7th grade history class. We wouldn’t talk to each other for the first month or so because we literally thought the other was going to be a bully and we were too nervous to even test that theory. What broke the ice, and what is one of my favorite memories of middle school, was Matt leaning over to me, class schedule in hand, and saying “Hey, can you look at this? I think I’m in the wrong class.” Keep in mind, this was almost a month into attending this class. It was hilarious, and we’ve been friends ever since. Over 20 years later I would be remiss to even call him my friend, because he is more like a brother in every facet of the word. No matter the situation, he has always been there for me. Whether it was to throw down and party like only we could do, or joining me on a last minute cruise vacation when I got out of the Marine Corps, or being there for me when I returned from Afghanistan and never letting me down when I needed a friend the most, Matt has always been there for me, no questions asked. I will forever cherish our friendship as one of the best things to happen to me, and I am beyond honored to be a part of this incredible moment in his life. I cannot wait to celebrate with him and Serene on their big day!
Bridesmaid
Serene and I met our freshman year of college at George Mason. Surprisingly, when I first met Serene, I thought she was shy, but I quickly realized that would never be the case. We started as dorm neighbors, but over the years, we realized we are each other’s platonic soulmates. From college dorms to getting our first big girl jobs and everything in between, I have been so lucky to have had Serene by my side through it all. I am excited to stand beside her and Matt as they say their vows and watch as they create a beautiful future together!

I met Matt working for Rainmaker in the middle of the hot Virginia summer. We enjoyed playing in the dirt together. It was an instant bromance! It was an instant connection because both shared a love for the same things, good people, good sports, good food, fine liquor and cold beer. Cheers!

Serene is my older sister - With a 10 year age gap, it was hard to connect growing up. I felt like I was the annoying kid sister that just wanted to be her, but she was going about her life. Regardless, we still had a strong bond between us and had each others back - And the memories we share of the movies, at home plays, pranks on Brianna (sorry Breezy) and group naps bring me so much joy. Flash forward, that relationship has grown from annoying kid sister to an amazing friendship. She has had and continues to be a huge influence on who I am today because of it.

Matt and I grew up in the same neighborhood – he’s the closest friend that I have from that group of Triple Ridge guys that grew up together. Our friendship began based around our mutual love for sports, and particularly baseball. Matt and I playing on teams together (our sisters did as well) brought our two families close together and created friendships that have endured the test of time. Throughout the years Matt and I have stayed great friends despite never living close to each other after high school – a testament to the great guy that he is, and our common interests and similar sense of humor. I think back to our best memories - playing home run derby near our parents’ homes, terrorizing neighbors on a daily basis, going on family trips together, constantly getting in trouble. Matt really is the best dude and I could not be happier that he has found someone in Serene that compliments him so well. From getting to know Serene over the years at many events, she’s an awesome person – a great mix of sharp, fun, and strong enough to keep Matt in check when he needs it! I can’t wait to celebrate your special day with you two, family and friends

I met Serene on the set of "Back to the 80s", my first musical in high school. She (not knowing me and, I, obviously not wanting people to know I was gay) came straight up to me, and asked if I was gay, saying "It doesn’t matter! I’m just asking." I was not a fan at first. And now it been 15 years later and I’m still the best of friends with this honest, strong, respectable, intelligent woman who made me feel seen and understood. She let me know myself, and loved me for me.

There's several things me and Matt had in common, among all things it was the love of baseball. And thank god for baseball, because thats exactly how we met each other, playing baseball in college. We both love the sport so much we wouldn't ever run out of things to talk about because we could always talk about baseball if the topic of conversation was getting boring. We had a right good amount of stuff in common. We both kinda looked similar as far as how our bodies were built, same height and weight, and we both played 1st and both could crush a baseball. Us 2 would roll around from place to place together looking like bash brothers, it was pretty cool. We lived up the night life pretty good while in college and have plenty of stories to talk about. He was one of my best friends in college no doubt. And after college even though we live almost 4 hours away from each other we make time to visit each other every so often. I couldn't be more happier for Matt meeting Serene and them getting married. I love both of yall and hope yall live a long and great life together.
Flower Girl
Hi everyone! I'm Kira - I don't know how to write so I asked my Auntie to say "Dear Auntie Serene! I love you and I'm excited to be a flower girl!"
