Question

What should we wear?

Answer

Our wedding is a chance for you to flex your formal attire. If you're confused about what that means - so are we! We find wedding dress codes hard to parse, so we think that the guide below from The Knot is a helpful starting place. We encourage you to wear something that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and allows you to drop it low on the dance floor. https://www.theknot.com/content/wedding-guest-attire-cheat-sheet

Question

How should we get around New Orleans?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception are walking distance from the hotel options. We recommend utilizing ridesharing (Uber/Lyft) or bikesharing (Blue Bikes) to get around. Both hotels are located on historic St. Charles Ave., right on the streetcar line. Make sure you've got your $1.25 handy and you can take this scenic ride directly into the CBD from either of our hotels.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we adore your kiddos, we have invited only the people whose names are on your invitation. Please let us know if you need help finding a babysitter in town.

Question

Is any part of the event outside?

Answer

We sure hope so! Il Mercato has both beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, and we hope to take full advantage of both of them. While New Orleans never gets too cold, we recommend bringing an extra layer just in case.

Question

What elements of this weekend will be inspired by New Orleans culture and tradition?

Answer

We're so glad you asked! There will be two elements inspired by the Crescent City: the Second Line parade and the New Orleans cocktail-style dinner service. A second line is a walking parade led by a brass band. We will be parading about 20 minutes between the ceremony and the reception, so please select your shoes accordingly. Read about this historic New Orleans tradition below: https://www.neworleans.com/things-to-do/music/history-and-traditions/second-lines/ Inspired by the community and hospitality of New Orleans, our dinner will be "cocktail-style." This means that instead of a formal seated dinner with assigned tables, guests will be free to grab food from food stations between rounds on the dance floor. Don't worry-we assure you there will be plenty of delicious food and drinks throughout the night!

Question

What should I do if I have a question that hasn't been answered?

Answer

Ask! Please don't hesitate to text, call, or email either one of us. Odds are, we probably miss you and would love to hear from you anyways!
