Yes absolutely -- except during our ceremony! We encourage you to share your experience using our hashtag #ChrisAndSerena so we can enjoy these moments for years to come. The only time we ask you to put away all devices is during the wedding ceremony itself, when we invite you to be fully present with us during this important rite of passage. (Don't worry, we have dedicated people whose job it is to document the ceremony!)
Whatever makes you feel dressed-up and ready for fun :) The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception will all be held indoors at the museum.
Waltham is convenient for taxis and ride share apps, such as Lyft and Uber. Public transportation is an option as well, but runs less frequently in the evening; visit MBTA.com for more information and download the Boston Transit App at (transitapp.com) for live GPS tracking. For those driving, you can use the Embassy Parking Lot at 42 Cooper Street in Waltham. Once you park, pay at the kiosk (parking becomes free after 6pm). Walk along the wooden fence that follows the Charles River until you reach a small footbridge; cross the bridge and there will be signs pointing you to the right to the museum's entrance.
From Moody Street, turn at the alleyway next to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car building. Take a right at the first right, at a large green sign that reads “Francis Cabot Lowell Mill, 190 Moody Street.” Walk by the dam and along the Charles River; continue walking straight down the walkway to the front entrance.
Anyone who knows Serena knows the answer is YES. There will be snacks to nibble on during cocktail hour, and a BBQ buffet served at the reception (there will be vegan/vegetarian options and you can let us know about your dietary restrictions when you RSVP).
The wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday will be adults-only. But do feel free to bring children to the Welcome Party the night before and the Farewell Brunch the morning following! We recommend care.com for those looking for childcare in the area for Saturday evening.
YES!
We've tried to make this easy for everyone! Our wedding ceremony AND dinner and dancing will all be at the same place: the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. Click on "Schedule of Events" in the menu above for more details on times and additional events.
Yep!
We recommend the Courtyard Marriott in Waltham where the majority of our guests will be staying -- plus, you'll be across the street from the Welcome Party and will be able to roll out of bed to attend brunch downstairs the next morning :) You can find more information about the room block we've reserved and other hotels in the "Accommodations" section.
If you are planning to stay in Waltham, you may find it most convenient to rent a car for your trip. If you are planning to stay closer to the city of Boston, parking becomes much scarcer and expensive. We recommend ride-share services, like Lyft and Uber, or using public transportation -- visit MBTA.com for more information and download the Boston Transit App at (transitapp.com) for live GPS tracking.
