Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the isle with us.

Maurice and Susan Angelo

Parents of the Bride

Tony and Shirley Chung

Parents of the Groom

Shalina Angelo

Maid of Honor

AKA identical twin sister so obviously my maid of honour. There are no set of right words to describe the relationship we have. She is my twin sister by fate, but most definitely my best friend by choice. What I love most about her, is how she has always believed in me and has had my back since day one (literally)! She has always encouraged me to aim high, supported me through ups and downs in life, and of course been a huge element and supporter of my relationship with Selwyn. Planning a wedding under 11 months sure sounds crazy, but if Selwyn and I come even close to pulling off our dream wedding, I know it would be her, I'd be most grateful for. I could never in a million years, imagine getting married without her by my side <3

Hanan Alam

Best Man

Hanan and I have been friends since Grade 6. He was the first Alam brother I met at St. Aidan. We’ve had many classes together and that trend continued into High School. Since then we’ve been inseparable, until now (sorry buddy). You’re my go to person for literally anything. You keep me stable and grounded when I think of doing something foolish. You show me different and better ways of doing things, like how to finesse the government by starting my own business lol. And now, your teaching me how to become a better man for Mel. I have grown as a person with you by my side, as both a friend and a brother. I cannot wait to see my Best Man attempt to hold back the tears (happy tears of course) for when Mel and I exchange our vows and say I do! Love ya buddy!

Cidel Angelo

Bridesmaid

Cidel is my youngest sister, but also one of my best friends. She is intelligent, kind and one of the most generous person I know. She is also one of the only person I know, who is never afraid to speak her mind. I sometimes think that one of the reason Selwyn finally proposed to me was because of her, who would constantly say to him "So why doesn't my sister have a ring yet?" (Jokes). I am so proud of her and love her to death. Couldn't imagine getting through the big day without her by my side.

Sheldon Chung

Groomsman

My little brother or as my friends would call him… mini Selwyn. Sheldon went to St. Aidan too, however, we both had very different experiences. I was the kid that was always sitting in front of the principal’s office while Sheldon was the kid who was always sitting in the front of the class. Every teacher who had the pleasure of teaching Sheldon was always amazed that we were related. I can still recall the countless times I overheard his teachers talking to my mom saying, “Oh, Selwyn is his brother?!” Regardless of the fact, I am privileged to have shown you what not to do so that you were able to grow and become the successful engineer you are today. I am so proud of the man you have become and I’m overjoyed that you will be by my side at my wedding. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Stephanie Chung

Bridesmaid

AKA my future sister in law, Selwyn's younger sister or if you ask me, "His Twin". I am truly grateful of having Stephanie as my newest sister. She has been supportive of our relationship and has welcomed me into her family with nothing but love. I am fond of her laugh and sense of humour, her ambitions, and especially her passion to food (One we share in common). Thank you Stephanie for welcoming me into your family, and it is my honour to have you be part of my bridal party.

Husnan Alam

Groomsman

AKA Hanan’s twin but they could not be more different. Husnan is the one I go to most when I look for answers and guidance. I go to him in times of need, such as deciding on who to pick or drop on my NBA fantasy team. I go to him when I get in trouble, like the many times I received a speeding ticket. And most importantly, I go to him on the ball court when we desperately need someone to score a bucket. No matter the scenario, you always know what to do. You are a man of few words but the words that do come out of you are gold. In some instances, those words of wisdom is what gets me in trouble in the first place. But I wouldn’t trade those memories we shared together for anything in this world. I’m glad to call you my brother and I can’t wait to have you by my side on my wedding day!

Pamela Angelo

Bridesmaid

Pamela is one of my closest cousin, and one I have shared tremendous memories with. Although, she lives in New York, you can always expect her to surprisingly be present with us, no matter the occasion. Every time we meet, the feeling of 'childhood' comes alive. She has always been kind, generous, supportive and super fun to hang out with and FYI, one of the best drivers in New York. She also has some of the best dance moves I've ever seen. I look forward celebrating with and having her by my side on my wedding day.

Sukhjit Matharu

Groomsman

Suk Mon! Suki! Sukjinder! I don’t even know how we come up with these nicknames for each other but I guess that is the bond we share (its frigging hilarious though lol). I will always be grateful that somehow, we both started working together at the Library at the same time. From the numerous 2-4 sessions we had after work to the long relationship talks we had at Cha Time; you were always down to chill. Even when you decided to quit TPL (which I still think was a mistake), we still remained close friends. You were always there when I needed you and that is a testament to your kind and caring nature. I am so stoked to have you by my side during my big day. I can’t wait!

Ashley Haydarian

Bridesmaid

I would say, that it was destiny for Ashley and I to meet back in Nursing school (Cheesy I know). We coincidentally have always found our way to each other, by sharing the same clinical and it happened not once, not twice, but three times. For anyone who's been through nursing school, you know that you need "your person" to get through those clinical rotations. For me, that person was Ashley. She has been by my side through it all when times were good and when it got rough. We got to graduate together, and have since taken our own career paths. Yet we never seem to have lost touch. I am so proud of her accomplishments in her professional and personal life and I am honoured to have her as one of my bridesmaids.

Steven Abdalla

Groomsman

What can I say about Esta-von-don… well the first time I met him was at St. Aidan. Steven was always one of the bigger kids in our grade, which was evident as he always stood in the back row on picture day, whereas I was usually in the middle or first row. Even with that in mind, he was always a softie inside; a gentle giant if you will. And I mean that in the toughest and manliest way possible. If I was ever in a fight, he was there. If I needed relationship advice, he was there. Even if I was hungry and just wanted to get some McDonald’s, he would be there. Steven is one of the most genuine and caring person I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, through elementary school, high school, and York University. And now, with me on the most special day of my life too. Cheers Este!

Joyce Aina

Bridesmaid

I have known Joyce since Grade 10 in High School, which makes it a friendship of 12 years and counting. Selwyn and Joyce also went to the same University, thus she has gotten to know Selwyn pretty well too. Two years ago, I was honoured to be part of her wedding, and could not be happier for the person she has become today. I kid you not when I say, she is the most sweet and 'calm' person I know. Selwyn and I are thrilled to have her by our side on our wedding day.

Bishoy Abdelnour

Groomsman

Beezy and I have known each other since St. Aidan as well. Me and the gang use to skip school sometimes and head over to his house to play GTA San Andreas (he used to literally live right across St. Aidan). Then we went to the same high school together too. Again, we would sometimes skip Brebeuf to go play soccer & basketball at Kidstown. Bishoy has taught me so many things over the years. He was the one who taught me that you can only say a car is a V6 but not a V4 (you have to say 4 cylinder instead). He was the one who prompted me to get my dog Brandie when he got his first dog, Coco. He was the one who taught me how to drive manual and how to blow O’s at shisha bars. There were alot of things you taught me over the years Beezy and I am honored to have you be part of my wedding day!
