Lauren was in her junior year of college and her friend had posted an Instagram picture of her and a few other friends before they went out to a party. Lauren was tagged in this Instagram picture and Shawn messaged Lauren the following day. Lauren ended up opening Shawn's message and not responding. Shawn joked with Lauren about being rejected and Lauren decided to continue the conversation. They have talked every day since! Lauren and Shawn went on their first date on Valentine's Day in 2020. They were supposed to go out to a nice restaurant, but everywhere was booked, so they ended up getting Sheetz and talking for 3 hours in the little dining area there. Lauren and Shawn made it official in May 2021, moved in together in September 2022, got engaged in September 2024, and now they are getting married!
