Michael the week before had mentioned that he wanted to have a game night with a bunch of friends at his house and that he was going to set this it up for the following Friday. Fast forward to that evening, my dear friend Katie and I were heading over to Michael's when as we were pulling up I saw that the sidewalk and stairs were lined with candles and rose petals. I walked up the stairs and opened the door. Standing there was one of our friends with a single rose and a note card. I was informed that to read the card, take the rose and then proceed to the other friends that were there. In the background, the song "Northern Downpour" was playing and at the end of the line of friends, there was Michael standing, looking so charming. As I approached him, he got down on one knee and popped the question, "Kristen, will you marry me?". Of course I said "Yes!". It was such a sweet and thoughtful way to propose, and to be surrounded by so many people who care, made it even better! We are both so very excited to tie the knot and begin this new journey together!
Michael and I have known each other for five years and by the time of the wedding we will have dated for over three years. We both are nerdy and weird, we share a passion for cooking, and culinary adventures. Our first date was at a fusion restaurant called "Cowfish" in Raleigh so I was definitely relieved that he enjoyed trying new things. Michael is passionate about knowledge and music, when we first met he was actually a bassist for a metal band. I am passionate about knowing people and art. He in introverted and I am extroverted- which is why we make such a great match! We compliment each other, we have decided that he is the peanut butter to my jelly. We are very excited to be married and start this new chapter of our lives together and so blessed that we can have all of you there to share this special day with us!
