The ceremony begins promptly at 12:30 PM. Please arrive around 12:15–12:20 PM at St. Andrews By The Sea on Broadway in Saltaire. Immediately after, we’ll walk to the Saltaire Yacht Club, where the celebration begins at 1:00 PM. The two locations are a short walk apart — no transportation needed.
Elevated wedding guest attire — chic dresses, relaxed suits, or dressy separates that feel polished but effortless. Saltaire is all boardwalk, so comfortable footwear is encouraged (skip the stilettos).
Fire Island is ferry-access only. Take the ferry from Bay Shore to Saltaire. If you’re traveling from NYC and plan to take the train, check the MTA website for Saturday (9/12) morning Long Island Rail Road schedules to Bay Shore. From the Bay Shore train station, you can take the quick David’s Taxi shuttle to the ferry terminal. The 11:30 AM ferry to Saltaire is the last ferry that will get you to the island in time for our 12:30 PM ceremony. It will arrive in Saltaire with enough time to walk directly to St. Andrews By The Sea and find your seat. If you’d rather build in some extra breathing room, there is also a 10:10 AM ferry, arriving around 10:50 AM. You’ll have some time to spare, but can grab a coffee at the market and enjoy a leisurely morning before heading to the church. Our recommendation: Plan around the 11:30 AM ferry, but give yourself plenty of time to get to Bay Shore — this is one boat you really don’t want to miss! 🙂
Don’t panic — you still have options: • Take the next scheduled ferry (you may miss the ceremony but not the party). • Book a private water taxi for more flexibility. • Rideshare to Field 5 (Fire Island Lighthouse) and walk ~1.5 miles to Saltaire. We recommend building in a little buffer time so you can arrive relaxed.
Nope! Fire Island is completely car-free. Once you arrive, everything is just a short walk away!
Absolutely. Staying on Long Island near the ferry is a great option. The celebration wraps up well before the last ferries back to the mainland, so you won’t miss a thing.
Yes — hotels in Kismet, Ocean Beach, and Ocean Bay Park, plus vacation rentals throughout nearby towns. September is popular, so we recommend booking early. Need a gut check on logistics before booking? We’re happy to help.
Yes — hearty bites will be served throughout the afternoon in place of a formal seated meal.
No. If you’re a three-meals-a-day person, we recommend having breakfast and/or an early lunch before the 12:30 PM ceremony.
Yes - drinks are on us!
Around 5:00 PM — with plenty of daylight left to keep the fun going elsewhere if you’d like.
While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration.
Meet us at The Shack in Atlantique on Sunday - we are planning to go from around 11 to 2(ish) for a Miami Vice or two before heading off on our mini-moon. If you’re around, come say hi.
