Bride
I'm currently in vet school at Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. I plan to practice food animal medicine when I graduate. I like crochet, horseback riding, plant keeping, photography, sheep, and cats.
Groom
I'm currently a Web Developer with Purplewave where I help maintain and upgrade their websites. I'm into woodworking and video games, and I've recently taken up horseback riding with Sarah – along with a number of other off-and-on hobbies.
Matron of Honor
We met in our animal anatomy class at Virginia Tech when our TA asked us how we thought zombies could be possible, and Santerra had the best answer... after that we started sitting together for all our pre-vet classes and became best friends. I was in her wedding, so it's only fitting that she should be in mine!
Best Man
Josh has been there for me since I was little. He even ended up dressing up as a particular purple dinosaur for one of my birthdays. Quick with a joke and good with advice, I know he's someone that I'll always be able to count on.
Bridesmaid
We met at the Baptist Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech, but bonded over being animal science majors, loving horses, and living together during my gap year. Our favorite pass-times include quoting obscure Disney movies and talking about keeping animals that most people don't want to have as pets.
Groomsman
Sean and I met in our sophomore year at Virginia Tech. After completing a number of tasks and challenges together in the Corps, Sean, Caleb, and I spent many weekends hanging out in downtown Blacksburg. After sharing some funny (and some scary) times together, I know that Sean is someone who would drop everything to help you if you asked for it.
Bridesmaid
We went to Emmanuel Christian School together in middle and high school. I don't even remember how we ended up close, but I'm so glad we did! I have loved keeping in touch with her through college and I'm so glad she's doing all our wedding stationary!
Groomsman
Louis and I went to high school together, and became close friends as the years went on. He always had the best LAN parties at his house and was always a good host. Even with years and many miles between us, I still count him as a good friend.
Bridesmaid
Nancy Lee and I have been friends since she started at Emmanuel Christian School in 8th grade. We were in all the same classes together. I have many fond memories of attending her birthday parties and we liked to go see the same movies in theaters, so of course we spent a lot of time together! I was her maid of honor and I'm so excited she's going to be in my wedding too!
Groomsman
I met Zachary through his twin brother, Caleb. Caleb and I became fast friends, so I ended up becoming Zachary's friend too. We had a blast road tripping across the country to see Caleb's Advanced Infantry Training graduation.
Bridesmaid
Katey was in my lab group during my first semester of vet school. We struggled through the details of anatomy and physiology together and bonded over our misery. We've continued studying (and crying) together ever since!
Groomsman
Bob and I have shared some great times together - to this day, I still remember the time that I drove Bob to the hospital with my learner's permit when he ended up breaking his thumb. We came back to cold prime rib and a reportedly unwatched copy of Pineapple Express that we were both a little bitter about.
Bridesmaid
Sarah and I both sit in the front row of the vet school classrooms, so of course we would be friends! We got close over our immunology class, since I needed all the help I could get in that class... now we study for all our classes together and (attempt to) keep each other sane.
Groomsman
Jay and I have had some great times together. I'll never forget the time he had a sound system put in his Audi, where we spent the whole day driving around State College – hitting up the arcade and just hanging out.
Flower Girl
I wanted Abigail to have a part in our wedding, but I knew she wouldn't be comfortable taking on too big of a role. I also knew I still needed a flower girl, and Abigail fit the part!
Ring Bearer
While Santerra, Charles, and I were hanging out one day, we realized I didn't have a ring bearer! Charles jokingly said he'd fill in - I asked him if he was serious, and he said sure! I'm so glad he's up for the challenge!
Wedding Planner
Julie started out as my math teacher in middle school. I kept taking math with her in high school and also took calculus with her at the local community college over a summer. During that time I was able to work several weddings with her, and now I'm so excited to have her by my side planning my wedding with her at last!
Honor Attendant
Zachary's twin brother that I got randomly matched with my Sophomore year – he and I have been there for each other through the good times and the bad. Ever since I met him we've pretty much clicked and he's always had my back – just like I've got his. He's the reason that Sarah and I met, so I have him to thank for starting our whole story. He had agreed to be my best man, but unfortunately, he will now be deployed during our wedding. We thank him for his service, and know that he'll be with us in spirit.
