Temples are houses of the Lord—sacred places where we draw closer to God. For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, temples are the only places on earth where families can be united forever. Inside, we learn more about God’s plan, feel peace, and make sacred promises to follow Him. Why are we getting married in the temple? For us, this is the most important part of our wedding. In the temple, we will be sealed, meaning our marriage is not just for this life, but for eternity. In the temple, we make sacred covenants—promises with God—to follow Jesus Christ, live faithfully, and build our lives on Him. These covenants are central to our faith and to the kind of marriage we hope to create. Through God’s power and authority, these promises allow families to be together forever. This is deeply personal and means everything to us 🤍 Why can’t everyone attend? Because temples are sacred, only members of the Church with a temple recommend may enter. We know this may feel different or even disappointing. Please know this does not mean you are any less special in God’s eyes, nor does it change how deeply we love you. You mean so much to us. How can I still be part of your day? Even though the ceremony is private, we would love for you to still be part of this moment. It is common to come to the temple, walk the beautiful grounds, or wait nearby while we are inside (the ceremony is about 30 minutes). Afterward, loved ones gather outside to welcome us as we exit, and we would love to see you there. You are also warmly invited to celebrate with us later at our reception—whatever feels most comfortable to you. Our Testimony We love Jesus Christ and know that He lives! He has restored His gospel and given us temples, because He loves each of us, and we all have the sacred opportunity to make covenants with Him. Through His power, these covenants make it possible for families to be together forever. We would love to chat if you have any questions!
