Sebastian and Kenz met in 2024 and instantly became best friends. Kenz would call Sebastian her “Ecuadorian sunshine bundle” and would joke that she needed to marry one of his friends just so he could be in her life forever. From the beginning, everyone around them seemed to see something they didn’t—most people assumed they were already dating or told them they should be. Kenz, on the other hand, always loved Sebastian and thought he was kind of the best ever… but just as her best friend. Sebastian, however, definitely saw the vision. He had a crush from day one but didn’t want to risk the friendship, so he played the long game. And if there’s one thing about Sebastian, it’s that when he has a goal in mind… he sticks with it. Before New York, Kenz had decided to say a prayer and ask God to help her be less flirty with Sebastian—everyone thought they were dating, and she needed to get married! She was determined to make sure New York stayed just a “friends trip.” Well… God had other plans. Over New Year’s, Kenz visited Sebastian and his family in New York, and they had the best time. Somewhere between falling asleep on the subway, eating countless treats, and holding hands while trying to make their way through the Times Square crowd… something shifted. NYE in Times Square must be magic, because something changed. Kenz started to see things differently—and after that, she couldn’t stop thinking about him. After the trip, things felt different. When they got back to Provo, they decided maybe they should give it a try. But after a week, they decided it would be best to go back to being “just friends.” So they did. Everything went back to normal… or at least it seemed that way. Until one night, Sebastian finally kissed her—and everything changed. And from then on, Kenz was all in.
