Best Man
I met my tocayo in middle school gym class. It started with a basketball and a nickname and stuck from there. The friendship really took shape in high school and has only grown stronger since. Since I was the older one, I kept the name, and Sebastian became known as Lema. Lema is the definition of an A-type friend. He plans the trips, organizes the events, checks in on you, celebrates your wins, and somehow never forgets a birthday. Whether it is making sure everyone is on point for an event or refusing to let you log off a game when you are on a heater at 2 a.m., Lema has always been there. He sets the bar for what true friendship looks like.
Maid of Honor
Cata was thrown into my life when my mom told me a cousin I barely remembered was going to live with us for a few months. From the moment we met, we quickly realized how similar we were while still embracing our own unique differences. One thing I deeply admire about Cata is her determination. She knows how to get what she wants and does not take no for an answer. Even though we do not share the same first language, we have never struggled to understand each other. She shows her love through thoughtful, intentional acts of service that always go above and beyond for the people she cares about.
Groomsman
Nik welcomed me into the family from day one and never made it feel like I was an outsider. He is the kind of person who can change the energy of a room. Whether he is giving golf tips, stepping in as DJ, unofficially being the bartender, or diving passionately (and I mean passionatley) into a conversation, he brings life with him. At the end of the day, Nik is someone who makes sure the people around him are taken care of. Whether that means fixing your short game or making sure you never have an empty drink in hand, he always shows up for his people.
Matron of Honor
Dee has always had that effortlessly cool, older-cousin energy. The one you look up to growing up and secretly hope will let you tag along. As kids, I wanted so badly to be her friend. As adults, I’ve realized we always were friends and even more than that, she’s truly like a sister to me. Strong, stylish, and unapologetically herself, Dee brings confidence wherever she goes. Watching her step into motherhood and become an incredible mom to Nina Sky has been such a joy. I’m so lucky to have her by my side.
Groomsman
Diego is Lema’s older brother, so he has been around just as long. Our friendship grew stronger through bike adventures, Dolphins tailgates, and trips that somehow always turned into great stories. Diego has a gift. He may not try to be the funniest person in the room, but somehow the funniest moments always happen around him, and the way he tells a story makes them even better. Beyond the trips and good times, Diego is someone who always shows up for the people in his life. When he says he will be there, he means it. As he likes to say, his word is OAK.
Bridesmaid
Franca is my literal sister. Like any sisterhood, we’ve had our ups and downs, but no one understands the ins and outs of me and my family the way she does. She’s always there when you need her even if she might need a nap or two in between. Whether she’s trying to get a laugh out of everyone or offering nutritional advice (even when unprompted), Franca shows up with honesty, humor, and heart.
Groomsman
One of my oldest friends, Nick and I go back to school classrooms, Azeroth battlegrounds, and plenty of shared life chapters. He has a very particular sense of humor that never fails to make me laugh. From late-night gaming to working side-by-side at Cold Stone, he’s easily the best coworker I’ve ever had and one of the most consistent friends in my life. No matter how much time passes, the conversation always picks up exactly where it left off.
Bridesmaid
Elaine and I have been friends since sixth grade, when she was so eager to make friends that she found a very creative way to break the ice. From there, our friendship grew naturally through the years. When we found out we were attending the same university, we decided to become roommates, and living together only made us stronger. She’s one of the few people I can spend unlimited time with and never get tired of, aside from that one middle school argument over a silly boy.
Groomsman
What started in a Halo Xbox lobby turned into one of the most dependable friendships I have. Sal is the kind of friend you think of when you think of the word itself. He shows up, he’s steady, and he’s always there. Whether it’s for a big moment or just another random day. Great memories behind us, many more ahead.
Bridesmaid
Ashley came into my life through my cousin Seby and the fact that he had never introduced me to a girlfriend before told me everything I needed to know. After meeting her, I quickly understood why he fell in love with her. She’s an incredible person inside and out, always willing to go above and beyond for the people she cares about. Ashley is truly a sweetheart except maybe when you’re competing against her in a game.
Groomsman
Danny, also known as Brazilian Danny or Dan-O, is built for adventure. From random beach trips in high school to mountain bike trails and everything in between, he is always down for whatever the plan is. If you want to try a new restaurant, book a trip, or do something different, he is the person to call. And if you start a conversation with him, be ready. He will bring passion, and I mean PASSION, to any conversation. It does not matter if you are in the middle of a bike trail or sitting in a quiet library. But beyond the energy and spontaneity, Danny is someone who takes care of his friends. He shows up, he checks in, and he is always there when it matters most.
Bridesmaid
I was first introduced to Adalis, aka Monkey, as one of Dee’s best friends. After enough times tagging along to their cool hangouts, we built our own bond over a shared love of Disney, the Florida Panthers, and the Jonas Brothers. Monk loves going all out for themed parties and events, it’s where her creativity shines. She’s a loving and caring friend who has always welcomed me into her family like one of their own.
Groomsman
Daniel, aka Cuban Danny, aka Danny may be a newer friend, but it never felt that way. He’s always down for anything, even a last-second change of plans, and always ready to have a good time. He’s someone who shows up to events, to trips, to life. From day one, he’s been the kind of friend you can count on. Whether it’s spamming the Discord general chat with elite ball knowledge or casually suggesting hotpot, Danny is always in.
Bridesmaid
Kaitlyn was someone I admired from afar at first because she was Franca’s best friend. As one of the older girls in my life, Kait was always ready to give guidance whether it was about boys, minimum wage jobs, or college experiences. Kait is the definition of loyalty. Even if plans need to be scheduled months in advance, you can always count on her to show up for the people she cares about.
Groomsman
Nicholas, aka Swanson (sorry, we already have two other Nicks in this wedding party), joined later in life, but the friendship feels like it’s been there since the beginning. He doesn’t miss events. If there’s a theme, he’s on theme. What used to be a running joke about only seeing each other on New Year’s is something I’m glad stayed a joke. He also happens to be the only Buffalo Bills fan I will tolerate, and gladly call a great friend. Whenever Swanson shows up, it’s a good time.
Bridesmaid
Hannah is a more recent friend, but our connection formed quickly. We first met virtually in our accounting class group chat when she mentioned her family’s CPA firm was hiring. The timing was perfect, and what started as classmates turned into coworkers and then into something much more. From day one, we realized how much we had in common especially our love for Disney (and accounting, of course). Over time, that connection grew into a bond that feels more like sisterhood.
