Also known famously as "The Gunks", Mohonk Preserve is a beautiful Preserve that spans 8,000 acres of mountain ridges, forests, fields, streams, ponds, and other unique and beautiful places. The Parking lots fill up early in peak fall season, so plan accordingly! There are many easy walking trails, a carriage road and more challenging hikes as well. The daily fee is $15 for hiking and , and $20 for biking and rock climbing.

Located in Ulster County, NY Minnewaska State Park Preserve is situated on the dramatic Shawangunk Mountain ridge, which rises more than 2,000 feet above sea level and is surrounded by rugged, rocky terrain. The park features numerous waterfalls, three crystalline sky lakes, dense hardwood forests, incising sheer cliffs and ledges opening to beautiful views, clear streams cut into valleys, 35 miles of carriage roads and 50 miles of footpaths on which to bike, walk, hike and simply enjoy.

Walkway Over the Hudson is a steel cantilever bridge spanning the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie, New York, on the east bank and Highland, New York, on the west bank. Built as a double track railroad bridge, it was completed on January 1, 1889, and formed part of the Maybrook Railroad Line of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. It was taken out of service on May 8, 1974, after it was damaged by fire. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and its entry updated in 2008. The bridge was designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2009. It was reopened on October 3, 2009, as a pedestrian walkway as part of the new Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.
Angry Orchard is 40 minutes south west of Poughkeepsie. A great spot to stop on the way to or from the area! They an outside area with fire pits, a few different tours you can take, as well as fresh donuts!
