Sean caught Justin's eye back at Boys State when they were high school students living in different parts of the state. Years later, fate brought them together again in a UMaine classroom studying microbiology, where Justin's quiet admiration for Sean went largely unnoticed. Sean was too busy socializing (and studying) with his nursing cohort friends to notice that he had a secret admirer. Justin gave subtle clues during the first couple of years at UMaine, a supposed UMaine Missed Connection post, and yet Sean remained unaware. They went on to earn a few college degrees and live life apart until Justin saw an opportunity to connect in 2017. Sean was finally single for a moment. Justin worked hard to convince Sean that the goofy science student from 2010 was worth having over for dinner. From a hesitant dinner date to a life shared on a farm, their love story unfolded organically.
