Suraya Restaurant
THE best Lebanese/Middle Eastern. Weekend reservations require the tasting menu and they book up quickly so look early! We frequent Suraya for all kinds of celebrations, birthdays, and always always take out of town guests here.
Pizzeria Beddia
A favorite Fishtown date night spot of ours! We dream about this pizza and crave it entirely too often. It's been listed in the past as the "best pizza in America" by Bon Appetit. Reservations also book up quickly so look about a month before! Get the famously spicy Angry pie if you're feeling adventurous.
South Philly Barbacoa
Even as a Texan, Jessie says these are hands down some of the best tacos she's ever had. No reservations and served family style - get in line early or during non-peak hours on the weekends! Located in the Italian market (we love the irony), this shop and owner started with humble beginnings. Check out her story on Netflix's Chef's Table (Christina Martinez)!
Love City Brewing
Pretty much our favorite brewery in Philly that we've loved supporting since their early days! Be sure to check out some of the many murals in the neighborhood while you're there.
Frankford Hall
This large German-style beer garden is an all-season favorite of ours on the main street of the Fishtown neighborhood. Our wedding weekend will be perfect timing for a stein of their Oktoberfest.
Jean-Georges Philadelphia
If you're in the mood for some swanky cocktails with the most impressive view of the city in all directions, check out this stunning bar on the top floor of the tallest building in Philly.
Independence Hall
If this if your first trip to Philly, this is up there on must-do's. Tickets are free, but you do have to reserve online ahead of time if you want to do the inside tour. It really is pretty surreal to be able to see exactly where the Declaration of Independence was signed! Or just to recognize all the scenes in National Treasure.
Reading Terminal Market
One of the oldest public markets in the country, this is a always a fun spot to check out as a tourist. It is always a little crazy on the weekends, but if you go, DiNic's Roast Pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe is actually Jessie's recommendation over a Philly cheesesteak. Yep I said it. (Sean will argue, though, and his cheesesteak rec is Jim's on South street)
Philadelphia Museum of Art
Rocky ran up these steps. You've seen it in every Philadelphia picture. It's situated in a beautiful and prominent location of the city that allows you to have awesome skyline views and direct line of sight to City Hall. Don't forget the museum itself, though! The exhibits are endless and always fascinating.
Museum of the American Revolution
Opened in 2017 on the 242nd anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, this awesome museum has tons of rich history and artifacts on display while being steps away from where the Declaration of Independence was written & signed.
Elfreth's Alley
The oldest continually inhabited residential street in America! The definition of Instagram-able, this is what you picture when you think of Philadelphia.
