Travel Note
Traveling by ferry from Seattle to Port Angeles is an option and is our favorite route. If you would like to experience the Pacific Northwest to the fullest, we recommend you drive onto either the Seattle-Bainbridge Ferry from downtown Seattle or the Fauntleroy-Southworth Ferry from West Seattle. The quickest route is to drive to Edmonds, north of Seattle, and take the ferry to Kingston. Local Tip: Driving around through Tacoma, and up through Gig Harbor, will be more cost effective on your way to Port Angeles. This is also your most time predictable route as ferries can sometimes get backed up in the summer. You can still enjoy the ferry on your way back to the Seattle area - passengers ride free on the return, just the vehicle and driver are charged! Be sure to check the schedule ahead of time to plan your travel https://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/
Travel Note
For those seeking a more off-the-grid stay, there is a beautiful campground close by, Dungeness Recreation Area and Campground sits on the largest natural spit in the entire world. There are a mix of first come, first served and reservable campsites.
