The Wedding Website of Laura Thiel and Aman Bhatia
Meet our closest friends and family, out of costume! (Except Chris.)

Fr. Michael Thiel

Priest

Brother of the bride “When I met Laura I was really jealous of the cool stuffed animals that she had. But it’s OK, I could always beat her in monopoly.”

Claire

Maid of Honor

Friend of the bride "Laura and I met and became best friends in Rome, Italy during the fall of 2013. We took the same classes, lived one floor away from each other, and traveled the world together! What were the odds that a girl from Wisconsin and a girl from Texas would meet and make such an impact on each other's lives! I was blessed to have Laura by my side as a bridesmaid at my wedding summer of 2018, and now I am blessed to stand by her side in May as her damiella donore!"

Liz

Bridesmaid

"My friendship with Laura really solidified when she became my RA during our sophomore year in college, and we haven't stopped laughing, adventuring and supporting each other since!"

Ellie

Bridesmaid

Cousin of the bride “Our childhood cousin sleepovers were filled with piano duets, American Girl Dolls and hidden stashes of Valentines Day candy that may still be tucked away in Laura's childhood bedroom. It was a solid foundation for an amazing friendship.”

Julie

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride "Laura and I met in our first ever college class - which is impressive, considering how often Laura made it to 8am Spanish. We’ve been friends ever since, with sleep overs, snail mail, travels, some tears, and so much laughter and joy over the years. (And of course sleeping in past 8am.)"

Amy

Bridesmaid

Cousin of the bride Cousins from birth, sisters at heart Laura and Amy have been connected from the start Over the years Amy has watched Laura grow and explore She's traveled with her in Door County, New York, Washington, and more A few years ago, a worthy gent named Aman entered the game And Amy was thrilled when he asked Laura if she'd be interested in taking his last name Great interactions and a memorable cousins’ camping weekend Proved that he would be Laura’s ideal life partner and best friend She’s delighted to be part of their wedding celebration And can’t wait to accept Aman as a cousin-in-law: the best new relation!

John

Bridesman

Brother of the bride People meeting Laura: “Dang you’re tall.” People meeting me: “Dang you’re REALLY tall.” People meeting us together: “What did your parents feed you!?!”

Chris

Best Man

Friend of the Groom “Known Aman from elementary school and never stopped acting like kids with him even since. From giggling at the creation of their new puns and finding adventure in all activities, there are too many stories from their travels and friendship over the decades to count.”

Hunter

Honorary Groomsman

Best Friend of the Groom “Aman has been one of my closest friends for 16 years. Whether it was through cross country running, learning guitar, going to concerts, or jumping out of airplanes- he's been a true friend which I couldn't be more grateful to have."

Shane

Groomsman

Best Friend of the Groom “I grew up in Laguna Beach, where I met Aman in high school. We Ran Cross County and Track together, and formed a close friendship through that. Though it can be hard to stay in touch and see each other often, that same brotherly love has persisted over the years and across the distance. I now live in Sausalito, CA with my wonderful girlfriend, Ira, and our cat, Whiskey.”

Ryon

Groomsman

Best Friend of the Groom "Lover of food and all things technology. Grew up in sunny socal but would rather hit movie theater than the beach. Been friends with Aman since middle school and am honored to be a part of his big day!"

Eddie

Groomsman

Best Friend of the Groom “I met Aman nine years ago at a party at my wife’s house (girlfriend at the time). We hit it off right away and within days he had me quitting my job to join him in the lucrative world of selling life insurance (I think we may have actually both lost money working there....guaranteed!). Either way, we had a blast attempting to sell something nobody wanted/needed and ever since I have and will continue to follow him into whatever adventures he seems to conjure up.”

Simon

Groomsman

Best Friend of the Groom “Aman and I have been friends since we first met in the sixth grade. From daily beach sessions and gaming, we became great friends right from the get-go. We’ve had many fun times over the years from music and soccer to sailing and traveling. Who knows what other adventures the future may hold.”

Asha

Groomswoman

Sister of the Groom “Aman and Asha have been close buds since Nov 8, 1988 (coincidentally the day Aman was born). This brother/sister duo enjoys international travel, camping along California’s coast, and most important of all... sushi. Seriously - sushi together, any time, anywhere. Now in their 30s, Aman and Asha enjoy visiting one another in their respective homes (or boats) in Anacortes and San Francisco, laughing about childhood mischief (Aunt Karen has plenty of stories!) and chatting about the exciting future ahead. Asha is so happy to gain a sister in Laura and can't wait to celebrate them both on the big day!”

For all the days along the way
