We first connected in 2019 while studying music education at CSU. After dedicating a year to personal growth, we found our way back to each other in 2020 and realized we were meant to be. Best. Decision. Ever. For the past four years, our lives have been a whirlwind of adventures across the country, countless kitty snuggles, precious family moments, and endless laughter. When Jonathan asked Jordan to marry him, there was no doubt in her mind—it was a loud, resounding "YES!" There were jumps of joy, giggles, and an overwhelming amount of love. We can't wait to take this next step in our journey together and hope to have you there!
It was a beautiful, clear June day as Jonathan, our friends, and I set out for a hike to Horsetooth Falls. Little did I know, Jonathan had been holding onto a secret that entire day, waiting for the perfect moment. A week prior we had done the same hike but to the bottom of the falls. On our way out I had briefly mentioned that I wanted to hike it again but to the top. Jonathan very sneakily suggested we invite our friends next week to hike to the top together and I loved the idea. For the next week we coordinated the hike with them and set out that afternoon. Little did I know all of them had completely different expectations from this hike. As we trekked up to the top of the falls I was just so excited to be around our friends and out in nature again. The anticipation of reaching the top of the falls kept us all energized, and our friends, Alex and Rebecca, kept the atmosphere lively with their cheerful chatter and laughter. Little did I know they were holding onto the most exciting secret. When we finally reached the summit, the panoramic view was nothing short of awe-inspiring. We decided to capture this perfect moment with a group picture. Standing there, a little out of breath, I felt at peace with the time together. Little did I know that this moment was about to become even more unforgettable. As we posed for the photo, Jonathan turned to me with a twinkle in his eye. Before I could even register what was happening, he was down on one knee, holding out a ring. The world seemed to stand still for a moment as my heart raced with joy and excitement. I couldn't hold back my giggles as he asked me to marry him. There was no hesitation—just pure, unfiltered happiness. Our friends, quick on their feet, captured this magical moment perfectly, preserving it for us to cherish forever.
I had known I wanted to propose to Jordan for a while and after getting the ring in February, and hiding it perfectly inside my computer, I was just waiting for the right time. Jordan and I have loved hiking and outdoor adventures together since the start of our relationship and I knew I wanted to tie this into our proposal. After we hiked to the bottom of Horsetooth Falls together the week prior to our engagement, I knew that was the spot. The following week consisted of creating a very secret, very delicate plan that Jordan could not catch onto, so, I made her think she planned the whole thing. I very carefully planted the idea of inviting our friends on a hike with us after Jordan had mentioned wanting to hike the falls again but this time to the top. For the next week while Jordan was texting our group chat to coordinate everything, I was texting on the side to execute my plan. The following week we began our hike with our friends, all excited and giddy to be with one another again. I glanced over at her, laughing and chatting with our friends, completely unaware of what was about to unfold. Every turn brought us closer to the top, and I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. This was it—the moment I had been planning for so long. When we finally reached the summit, the view was breathtaking. We decided to capture the moment with a group photo. As we posed, I took a deep breath and turned to her, pulling out the ring I had been hiding all day. Her eyes widened in surprise as I dropped to one knee. My voice was steady, but my heart was racing as I asked her to marry me. The joy on her face was everything I had hoped for. She couldn’t stop giggling, and her happiness was contagious. Our friends were quick to capture the moment, preserving the memory of our engagement forever. That evening, we celebrated with a steak dinner, surrounded by a few of the people we love.
