Visit Sundance Square, the lively heart of downtown Fort Worth. This 35-block area is full of fun shops, great restaurants, and cool entertainment spots. With its beautiful plazas and public art, it's the perfect place to hang out and enjoy the city. Fun fact, quite a few of our engagement photos were taken in Sundance Square.
Check out the Fort Worth Water Gardens, a cool spot right in downtown Fort Worth. This unique park has three awesome water features—the Active Pool, the Quiet Pool, and the Aerating Pool—perfect for relaxing and snapping some great photos.
One of our favorite spots to take the dogs for a walk or go for a run, the Trinity Park trailhead offers views of downtown while walking along the beautiful Trinity River.
One of our first outings in Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden has 120 acres of beautiful flowers, plants and trees. Wander through different themed gardens, like the serene Japanese Garden or the colorful Rose Garden. It's a peaceful and picturesque spot perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.
Don't miss the Fort Worth Stockyards, a historic district that takes you back to the Old West. Explore their unique shops, restaurants and live entertainment, and make sure to catch the twice daily cattle drive down Main St and experience a taste of Texas history and culture. While you're there, visit Billy Bob's Texas, the world's largest honky-tonk, and enjoy live country music, line dancing and even bull riding in this iconic venue. Another spot, known for its lively atmosphere is Second Rodeo Brewing on Mule Alley, offering a range of beers from hoppy IPAs to smooth ales - as well as some live music on their large patio. Side Saddle Saloon is right across the street and for those of you Yellowstone fans, there's a Beth Dutton themed drink on the menu, along with other cowgirl themed cocktails. If you're looking for a bite to eat, 97 West Kitchen & Bar is our go-to for special occasions, featuring a blend of southern and southwestern cuisines.
If you're looking for a fun activity for the whole family, the Fort Worth Zoo is a must-visit! It's one of the oldest and most respected zoos in the country, home to over 7,000 animals from all around the world. You can explore exciting exhibits like the African Savanna, the Texas Wild! exhibit, and the World of Primates. There's also a petting zoo for younger kids and plenty of places to relax while you enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. It's a perfect spot for a family outing, so make sure to set aside some time to check it out during your visit!
Topgolf Fort Worth is just outside downtown and from the front of the building you have a wonderful view of the skyline. We enjoy meeting friends and family for a fun few hours of some golfing games, good food and drinks.
Our favorite spot to go check out a movie - the AMC theater offers the most comfortable recliner chairs, and you can order food for delivery to your seat. The bar also offers fun themed drinks around new releases. The restaurants here are also fantastic! Some of our favorites are City Works for a sports atmosphere and Fixe Southern House has the best biscuits (be sure to get them as your appetizer, you won't be disappointed). Some of our other go-tos include Doc B's, Mesero and Plank Provisions. You really can't go wrong with any of the choices. Across the way is the Trailhead at Clearfork where you can take a scenic walk along the Trinity River. Another go-to spot for us. Press Cafe also has some great brunch offerings.
Discover the Whiskey Ranch, home to Texas Whiskey, nestled in Fort Worth's scenic countryside. This expansive distillery offers a unique experience with its tours and tastings of handcrafted whiskeys made from local grains. Whether you're a whiskey connoisseur or simply curious, the Whiskey Ranch invites you to explore their rich heritage and enjoy the flavors of Texas in every sip.
One of our favorite things to do is catch a Rangers game in Arlington at Globe Life Field. Depending on the weather, the stadium has a retractable roof and great views from every seat. It's just a quick Uber/Lyft ride or if you're driving, we recommend parking in Lot M and walking up to the stadium - you'll bypass a large portion of tedious stadium traffic. While you're there, check out Texas Live! Grab a drink before the game and enjoy the large screens and entertainment in the main seating area.
Have a blast at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, just a short drive from Fort Worth. With thrilling roller coasters, fun rides for all ages, and entertaining shows, there's something for everyone.
If you're staying in town for a while, I recommend hitting up Grapevine, TX, just a short drive up the freeway. Head down to Main St where you can walk along a variety of unique shops, restaurants, and winery tasting rooms.
