Jackson and Emily met in the fall of 2020 during their freshman year of college at Montana State University. It took moving 6 hours away from their shared hometown of Spokane to learn they had grown up less than half a mile away from each other!

On May 24, 2025, Jackson invited Emily out for a normal walk at Story Mill Park in Bozeman. He surprised her by proposing in the Nature Sanctuary in the middle of the park, to which she happily accepted! Little did she know that Jackson had secretly gotten both of their families to come over for the weekend, and surprised her with a celebration with family and Bozeman friends afterward.

Jackson is graduating in May 2026 with his Masters of Civil Engineering from Montana State University. Emily is currently working as a civil engineer for a firm in Bozeman. They plan on staying in Bozeman for the time being (and hope to get a dog at some point!).
