Since then he moved back to Irvine and began working as Manufacturing Engineer building Electro-cardio catheters. It was at this time in his life that he heavily pursued beach volleyball and met the love of his life on the beach.

Renee grew up in San Diego near the beach, moved to Santa Cruz to study mathematics when she was 20, to Mexico to learn Spanish when she was 22, grad school at Columbia University to become an actuary & financial risk manager in New York when she was 25 & finally back to southern California 2 years ago where she met the man of her dreams <3 She picked up a lot of amazing friends from everywhere she lived along the way who now make up her bridal party
Kyle Hurson
Best Man
Kyle is Scott's only older sibling who was most recently married and now expecting a baby in June. The two brothers briefly lived together in Aliso Viejo prior to Scott meeting Renee and disappearing altogether. Kyle has made a large impression on Scott's personality due to his family oriented outlook on life and will continue to be a model for his future son.

Jessica & Renee have been best friends since they met on a softball field in San Diego in 5th grade. Renee has sort-of-accidentally followed Jessica (with a few year delay) to college in Santa Cruz, a stint on the east coast & back to southern California.

Keith was one of Scott's first best friends starting in middle school when Keith moved to Yorba Linda from Arizona. The two of them joined the volleyball team their freshman year of high school and made their way through graduation. Keith has always been extremely supportive and continues to be one of Scott's greatest friends.

Renee & Brent met during Renee's first week at UCSC and have been basically inseparable ever since, with a friendship spanning all walks of life from long meaningful talks to ridiculous shenanigans & adventures

Brock and Scott went to high school together and first met in an xbox live chat with their mutual friend Keith. Brock is an extremely caring friend and actively works to be with his inner circle of friends. He has helped Scott through many difficult times and given him wanted and unwanted feedback on the women in his life.

Bethany and Renee started as coworkers in New York City but have since formed a bond that has spanned many miles and years <3 Bethany is Renee's biggest cheerleader in all walks of life and is always ready with a listening ear, heartfelt card, and her fabulous Carrie Bradshaw energy

Justin and Scott's lives have been intertwined since their youngest days when they met in Kindercare. The two of them continued to grow their friendship when they joined the school choir and future Show choir Encore in middle school. They continued that friendship through college, many beer drinking games, trips to Disneyland and now both groomsmen at their friend's weddings.
Josh Manley

Renee & Josh met at a coffee shop in New York City and became fast friends and roommates. Their first apartment was a little spot in Harlem, followed by an upgrade to the Financial District in New York. When Josh moved to Newport Beach, CA in 2015 he slowly but surely convinced Renee to do the same, where they eventually became roommates again on the west coast before Renee moved in with Scott in the summer of 2020.

Ryan met Scott through their mutual friend Justin, but grew their friendship the most in Shop class in high school . Ryan has been a very caring friend and has consistently put his friends before him and will share in friends company and their misery when they need him.

Renee & Nina met in New York in 2013 and became close over the years through many cabin weekends upstate, long conversations about life and happiness, a whirlwind adventure in Scotland where Nina performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and bonding over their decision to leave NYC at the same time

Nate met Scott through Renee's inner circle in San Clemente. The first time they met, both men measured their wing spans and referred to themselves as Team Condor whenever they played volleyball together. Their friendship is relatively new, but Scott continues to spend time surfing with Nate and contemplating life's mysteries in between sets.

Pat & Renee met on campus at UCSC and have remained close ever since with many long-distance phone calls, zoom calls & travels around the continent to see each other. At a moment's notice Pat can be called upon to party, go on a road trip, or provide life-changing advice. His happy, optimistic personality meant that Scott & him bonded instantly.
