Covid Update

Change of Plans!

Wish you didn't have to travel to Florida right now? Wish you could drink beer in PJs during our ceremony? Well now you can! Due to Covid-19 we have changed our plans. We will be having a private ceremony on October 10, 2020 with no guests. The ceremony will be live broadcast on youtube, see schedule for details. There won't be a reception. But we will have a zoom chat later in the evening to see everyone and celebrate together. We are hoping you can join us for a celebration next year in 2021. Details to be announced at a later date.

First Date

March 8, 2017

We had picked a fairly equidistant location since we lived over an hour apart (stupid 14 traffic)... Brass Tap. We had our first trivia night of many together... our name: Flying High. We won. Considering I was certain I was not going to hear back from Scott again (awkward hug), we divided the prize equally... He got the $50 bar tab and 2 limited edition Coppertail Brewery Imperial IPAs... I got the other 2 beers and a steel bottle opener. However, he ended up texting me the next day to meet up for beers again... and we haven't stopped since.

Proposal

October 10, 2018

We went to Disneyland with Heather, Mellissa's sister, the day before our Panama Canal cruise. Mellissa had no clue... Scott had done a lot of research via Reddit and now knew more about the park than Mellissa. After distracting Mellissa with breakfast so Heather could get everything through bag check, Scott said "I heard they were tearing down this dock." Well Mellissa fell for this hook, line, and sinker... "Oh man it must me in horrible shape, we have to go look." Mellissa then led them to the Edelweiss Snacks... nestled between Matterhorn Bobsled and It's A Small World. once arrived she was surprised to not see anything out of the ordinary except for all the ducks, to which she quickly started taking pictures of. Scott then explained how well Mellissa's new camera on her phone was to Heather. So Heather quickly asked to see it. While getting her to pose in front of the monorail pylon, Heather tried to get her to throw out her coffee cup. And in true Mellissa fashion, said "Nope, there is still a little left"... which is why in all of the proposal pictures she is clutching the cup. Scott then got down on one knee and said "Disney World brought us together... hopefully Disneyland will bring us closer.. Will you marry me?". Mellissa, through tears of joy, nodded her head for awhile and finally said yes. The ring... it was a 6 month ordeal of Scott designing the perfect ring for Mellissa... he took her love of bridges to a new level by putting one on her finger. He then went a step further by having 3 diamonds on the "bridge" and 8 small ones in the "river" incorporating their first date on March 8th.
