Scott and Lauren first met at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival where Lauren was interning and Scott was a horn fellow. When they moved to New Haven at the same time, they ran into each other on a street corner while they were each walking around and scoping out coffeeshops and bookstores in their new city. A few months later, Lauren gave Scott a ride home from a concert and they talked about the enrapturing world of copyright law. Thus a romance began.
As their relationship has developed, Scott and Lauren have been each other's greatest supporters when it comes to both career and personal goals. When Scott got the opportunity to move to Miami to join the New World Symphony, the couple did long-distance for a year and then Lauren moved down to Miami to join Scott. Throughout their relationship, Scott and Lauren have shown their commitment to each other in big and small ways. Choosing to commit to a lifetime together was an easy and natural decision for the pair!
Three years to the day of their first date, Scott and Lauren went out to celebrate and on the way home, Scott took the long way home stopping by the New World Center. On the rooftop garden overlooking Miami Beach, Scott asked Lauren to marry him. When they got home, Lauren pulled out an engagement band for Scott asked him to marry her!
Our wedding is an opportunity for us to celebrate our relationship, everything that has brought us to this point, and the people who have shaped us into who we are today. As we make this commitment to our partnership, the presence of our family and friends means the world to us! We hope it is a day filled with joy, fun, and love.
