FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kaileigh Moertl and Scott Shiro
Weather is looking beautiful - low of 61° and a high of 79°!
Question

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes! Our venue is called The Upchurch Venue in Cary, NC - a suburb of Raleigh. It's a beautiful historic estate where we will host the the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception!

Question

I have a dietary restriction, will there be food for me to eat?

Answer

Yes! We are planning to serve a buffet style dinner with both vegetarian and vegan options.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Our travel section has two hotel blocks listed. Both hotels are in the same area and within 10-15 minutes of the venue. The venue and hotel blocks are all in Cary, NC which is just outside of Raleigh and within 20 minutes of RDU. While Cary is central to the venue, downtown Raleigh and Durham would both be easily accessible for the weekend if you would prefer another hotel or an AirBnB with a group of friends!

Question

I am traveling to get here, how do I get around?

Answer

Raleigh-Durham airport will have several rental car agencies if you would prefer to have your own mode of transportation for the weekend. Otherwise, there will be plenty of Ubers and Lyfts in the area! The venue allows you to park cars overnight, if needed by our guests.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is semi-formal, meaning that your outfit can range from cocktail (think knee length dresses and dark suit jackets and slacks) to more formal (full-length dresses, dark suits). We don't want anyone to break the bank dressing for our wedding, so please choose an outfit that you love and feel most comfortable in!

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! As long as the weather is what we hope for, our ceremony will be outside on the Magnolia Lawn and our reception will be primarily indoors in The Conservatory. NC weather in early November can range from cool (50s-60s) to warm (70s), so keep an eye on the weather channel the week leading up to the wedding! Just in case of bad weather, we are fully prepared to move our ceremony and reception to both be fully indoors in order to keep everyone comfortable.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! The venue has 75 parking spots available. Cars can be left at the venue overnight, but MUST be picked up by 10:00 am the following day (Saturday, November 2nd)! Please let us know if you are planning to leave your car overnight, so that we can keep track.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Outside of a few families who are closely connected into our everyday lives, we are kindly asking for no kids over the age of 1 year old to attend. We love all of our friends and family who have kids and would love for you to be able to join us and enjoy the evening child-free! If this request would inherently exclude you from being able to attend, please reach out to either one of us as we would want to find a way to still include you in our celebration. If anyone with kids of any age have any questions at all, please shoot one of us a text or phone call!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please only bring a date if it is specified on your invitation that you have a plus one. Thank you!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 24, 2024!

For all the days along the way
