Have an afternoon free and want to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest? This 5.6 mile hike has waterfalls and scenic vistas, and is well worth a 2-3 hour outing.
Heybrook Lookout Hike
313 9th Street, Gold Bar, WA 98251
This is one of our favorite hikes in the area. A moderately steep, though very short hike (2.6 miles roundtrip), will get you to one of the best lookout points of the mountains surrounding Index. We highly recommend it--especially if you bring a hammock for the top!
