How did we meet? Despite knowing each other from school, Scott didn't pluck up the courage to ask Emma out until second year of university when Emma used to accompany Sasha up to the North Coast for a house party or night out. One half eaten Chilli Chicken Penne Pasta later, Scott managed to convince Emma to go on a second date where they watched the best movie ever, The Godfather (which Emma hated and still claims Goodfellas is better). How did it get serious? Scott still gets grief from most people about waiting five months to ask Emma out officially, but they took the brave step of long distance less than a year into their relationship when they both went on the Study USA programme. Scott went from Louisiana to Pennsylvania while Emma studied in North Carolina and Virginia but they made up for the time apart by spending Christmas in New York and the following summer driving down the West Coast of the U.S. After the year abroad, they took another step by moving in together into a flat in Belfast for their final year of uni. How did he propose? After university, Scott and Emma spent a solid 4 years travelling the world between city breaks to Rome, Paris and Barcelona to an unbelievable trip to Rio de Janeiro in 2017. Scott went away to Florida with Emma's family for the first time in 2015 and soon realised why the Dalys had been there 10 times in 17 years. Besides the unreal parks, amazing shopping, and the best food ever, Florida is truly a beautiful tropical setting that means so much to Emma. So it had to be Florida for the proposal. Scott took Emma for a walk along the Celebration boardwalks at sunset and told her to look out to the lake for a great insta picture. Once Emma turned back, Scott was down on one knee to ask 'how about forever?'.
