HER STORY: March 3, 2017. It was my first day as a Lyft Driver and I was so excited! My first ride wasn’t too bad, but my second ride was even better! It was the night I met my person! I picked up this incredibly handsome man, Scott Bower, who’s first words to me were “Can I sit in your front seat?” SO HOT! I felt him staring at me as I was driving and later found out it was because he liked my big white teeth! As we’re driving to his buddies house, he asked me to stop and get beer. 20 minutes into the drive, we’re having the most amazing conversation. I dropped him off and slowly started to drive away when he suddenly ran back to my car, banged on my window and said “Wait, we forgot to get beer!” So I let this extremely good-looking man jump back into my car without any hesitation - where we drove around for another 40 minutes “looking for beer” but actually just talking a lot more. As we “finally” found a store (there was one on every corner), I tried throwing on some makeup while he was inside. I was so nervous when he came back into my car, I'm positive there was lipstick on my teeth at this point! As I dropped him back off at his friends house, he asked for my number. He was so charming, nice, smart, had an amazing smile, big blue eyes, a great personality & a laugh that made me laugh even more. He was just so interested in learning more about me, it was a one-of-a-kind feeling! He kept asking me to meet him that night which I kindly declined. He called me every single day after that just to ask me how my day was. We met again three weeks later for St. Patrick’s Day! Although that night was short lived, he still continued to call me every single day just to see how I was doing! He was so persistent and still is to this day! We met another six weeks later and have been completely inseparable since. It’s insane to me that this perfect stranger became my best friend, my person, the best Father and the man I get to spend the rest of my life with.
HIS STORY: It all started with a trip to St Lucia. I woke up one day, looked over at my girlfriend and realized she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. If you don’t already know, Courtnie is a great planner! She booked this amazing trip to St Lucia during covid with scuba diving, massages, a photo shoot and I just knew this was my opportunity to ask her to marry me!! I was nervous the entire trip but I had it all planned out. I was going to propose to her during our photo shoot which was on the first day. I remember getting ready and having butterflies in my stomach. I went to the bathroom to "get ready" a few times and was having the hardest time fitting this big box into my shorts without it being noticeable so I did the unexpected and put the ring into my pocket! As we're leaving our room to go down to the photoshoot, it all started to hit me. I was super nervous but had one of the biggest highs you could ever have. As we were walking down to meet the photographer, I made sure Courtnie was in front of me so she couldn't see the nervousness. Keep in mind, I never told the photographer about my plan to propose. When we met our photographer, she was full of energy and had us follow her to the starting spot which was downstairs, outside, and at the bottom of the steps by a tree. As we were going down the stairs I knew it was time. At the bottom of the stairs, the photographer starts to direct me to stand by the tree. At that point I throw my hands out and shout "Wait a minute, just wait a minute!" Courtnie turns around to see what's wrong with me to find me down on one knee with a beautiful ring to give to the love of my life. “Will you Marry Me?" I say as I'm crying and barely holding it together. Courtnie starts crying too and gave me the biggest hug before even accepting the ring or giving me an answer! We hugged for a minute and I say... soooo…? At which time she giggles and screams YES! This was the happiest moment of my life.
