The First Date

Andrew and Maddy had their first date at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston, Massachusetts in October 2018. Maddy got hopelessly lost on her way to the museum, almost 45 minutes! The Boston T can be confusing if you've never had to navigate public transit alone. Andrew waited patiently in the lobby of the museum, texting Maddy helpful tips and being eyed by security for waiting a suspiciously long time. Don’t worry though! He waited, Maddy arrived safely, and security never got involved.  The couple spent the next two or so hours wandering the expansive galleries, peripherally looking at the amazing artwork, but mostly talking to each other about every topic under the sun. They discussed friends, family, school, religion, values, and plans for everything from the rest of the weekend to the next 15 years.  The walking and talking continued into the wet city streets of a cold and rainy Boston night. Maddy anxiously attempted to hold Andrew’s hand, while he had convinced himself she didn’t want to hold hands! Nerves were high for both of them by then. They could both feel it: there is definitely something here. They went to one of Andrew’s favorite casual restaurants for dinner: Amelia’s Taqueria. They ate at a counter, people-watching out the bay-style windows as they continued their conversations from the museum. Andrew told her all about his best friend John, who was applying for a big job at the time. Maddy told him more about her favorite class that semester: The Reformation. The chemistry was instant and the conversation flowed seamlessly. Both were much more relaxed, their nerves died down, and they even left the restaurant holding hands!  The next stop was one of Andrew’s favorite city views - the top of a nearby parking garage. Looking out over the nighttime skyline, they talked about what they wanted out of a relationship. Maddy headed home shortly after, but not before Andrew had the chance to end this perfect date on the best note and give her the most romantic kiss on her forehead. There started the couple’s love for forehead kisses:)
