FAQs

You've got questions. We've got answers!
Question

When should I plan to arrive in the Yosemite area?

Answer

We recommend you arrive or fly in no later than Thursday, May 29 to allow ample time for possible travel delays. Most guests will arrive May 29 and depart June 1.

Question

Do I need a reservation to enter Yosemite National Park?

Answer

Nope! As of April 29, 2025, a reservation is not required for our wedding! May 27 through June 14: A reservation is not required at any time. Please visit the link below for more information. https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/reservations.htm

Question

Do I need to pay to get into Yosemite National Park?

Answer

Yes. The fee is $35 per car and is valid for three consecutive days. This fee covers the vehicle and everyone inside of it.

Question

Is there parking at the ceremony location?

Answer

Yes! There is limited parking at the Cathedral Beach Picnic area so please plan to carpool with as many guests as possible.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that phones and cameras are silenced and put away during our wedding ceremony. We have hired a team of amazing photographers so we would prefer you enjoy the moment with us, phone/camera-free!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all guests comfortably while adhering to the park's capacity limit, we ask that only invited guests attend our wedding festivities. You'll find details about your party size, including whether it includes a plus one, on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

What should I plan to do/see while in the area and Yosemite National Park?

Answer

Please see the "Things to Do" tab above for lots of ideas! We will be adding things here in the coming weeks.

Question

Do I have to hike to get to the ceremony?

Answer

Nope! It’s a short walk from the parking lot to the ceremony site. No need for hiking boots - the ground might be soft though so we do recommend flats or shoes with chunky heels.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dressy casual, semi-formal, or cocktail attire will be appropriate for both the ceremony and reception. The ground may be soft so keep that in mind when selecting shoes - high heels may sink into the ground if not thick enough. Hiking boots are not needed as the walk from the parking lot to the ceremony is short and flat. If you have any questions or need examples, ask Chelsea :)
