Travel

We recommend staying in Downtown Oceanside, a vibrant coastal city known for its great restaurants, local breweries, and laid-back surf culture. We’ve secured room blocks at hotels in the heart of downtown, all within walking distance to top dining, shopping and beaches. Shuttle transportation will be provided from downtown Oceanside to the wedding. September is a beautiful and popular time to visit San Diego. We recommend booking accommodations early. *Note, the room blocks must be booked by the dates listed below.

Flight

San Diego Airport

We recommend flying into San Diego International Airport (SAN), about 40 miles south of Oceanside — a scenic 40–60 minute drive up the coast, depending on traffic. Uber and Lyft are readily available, or we recommend renting a car if you plan to explore the area during your stay. The train is also a great way to get to Oceanside from the airport/downtown San Diego — see below for details.

Train

Getting to Oceanside by Train

The train is a scenic and convenient way to get to Oceanside, with beautiful coastal views along the way. From San Diego International Airport, you can take a quick Uber/Lyft (10–15 minutes) or the free shuttle bus to Santa Fe Depot in downtown San Diego. From there, you have two train options: Amtrak (Pacific Surfliner): The most flexible option, with multiple departures daily (including weekends). Take the train north to Oceanside Transit Center (~45–60 minutes). Coaster: A commuter train running on weekdays during peak hours only, also traveling north to Oceanside. Once you arrive in Oceanside, it’s a short walk to nearby hotels like The Seabird Resort and SpringHill Suites.
