It was a cold November day in Chicago when Hinge's algorithm decided that Megan and John would be the "Most Compatible" match for each other. The conversation started off light, with John referencing his hatred of geese and Megan sharing her love of running. They met later that weekend at Corridor Brewery in Chicago for some light-hearted conversation over a couple of hazy IPAs. They both connected over their shared midwestern values, passion for fitness and travel, life and career ambitions, and a deep discussion over what type of animal they would be (Megan would be a meerkat, John a Moose). This was the first of many dates, where Megan and John would explore Chicago together, discovering incredible new restaurants, training for various marathons and fitness challenges, and integrating further into each other's lives. They moved in together in the Buena Park neighborhood of Chicago and brought a very small cavapoo puppy, Ivy, into the mix, who they love dearly. Beyond Chicago, Megan and John have loved going on trips together to new and exciting places. Some of their favorite destinations include Door County, Colorado, St Louis, Mexico (twice!), the Bahamas, and most recently France for the 2024 Summer Olympics. On this trip, John proposed to Megan looking over the Mediterranean Sea, and the rest is history!
