Hello family and friends… the premise of this story… is “Shoot your shot!” Because once upon a 2021 summer… a beautiful woman gave it some thought. She had found a man… often dressed in maroon and gold. And with the help of some loved ones… she decided to be bold. She sent him a message… very simple and sweet. He responded that day… but it’d be months before they’d meet. The first date went well… but they didn’t know where it would go. They were in two different places… so they kept their expectations low. He was headed to Omaha… and she was living in Duluth. They thought they’d never see each other again to tell you the truth. But several more months went by… and their conversations continued to grow. They both felt they owed it to themselves to see where this could go. So she bought a ticket… and hopped on a flight. Just to get there to find he was nowhere in sight. Without going into detail… let’s just say he was a tad bit late. Thankfully… she was very kind… and gave him a blank slate. The weekend was perfect… but it went by way too fast. They were both left wondering if this feeling would last. There was no doubt in his mind… this was the opportunity he couldn’t miss. So before she walked through those airport doors… he surprised her with a kiss. A gesture that said… this wasn’t the end. And surely enough… she was soon his girlfriend. Then a loooong 4 days in… during an intense game of UNO. An “I love you” had slipped… who said it?... who knows. The two love birds were hoping the game would just continue as before. But 3 of his best friends were there… so they made a scene and showed themselves to the door. What was done was done… and the two talked it through. For those who think 4 days is crazy… they’re about to say “I do.” The days to follow were beautiful… and torturous all the same. They’d have to go months without seeing each other… because he was off playing a game. Doing distance was brutal… but their relationship grew in so many ways. They learned to cherish their time together… as months turned to weeks… and weeks turned to days. Two years went by… and he was ready to get down on one knee. Except a certain someone had told them… “Don’t take the spotlight off of me.” This put two individuals at odds… and they were ready to fight. It was a normal occurrence for them… so a quarrel was only right. Alas… the spotlight had shifted… and it was time to take action. Who better to help get creative then his talented sister Ashtin. With careful thought and consideration… an elaborate plan came to be. Charlotte was the destination… where he’d ask… “Will you marry me?” The plan was executed to perfection… not a thing went wrong. She blessed him with a “yes” … and they celebrated all weekend long. There’s plenty more to their story… but it will have to get cut off here.
